I want to be a vegetarian but I'm discouraged..some body help me?

Answers:
Tell who ever is going against your wishes that being a Vegitarian is good becase...

1. It takes away the drugs in your system that are their because of the drugs they put through animals.
2. It lowers your risk of cance/heart disease
3. It saves innocent beings that did nothing to us
4. You wouldn't eat your pet, or child. But it's the same as an animal
5. That you truley want to be a vegitarian.
6. That it is the HEALTHIEST thing you can do for your body when done right
7. You won't get fat

For any additional help

Then obviously you don't WANT to be a vegetarian. Nothing wrong with eating meat.

Eat what you crave....your body is telling you something.

Go get a big cheeseburger. It will make you feel better

...that means you don't relaly wan tto be one.
DUH.

You asked for help, so my help would be don't do anything you're uncomfortable with. Examine your reasons for wanting to do this. Are you simply looking to eat healthier? Then examine what exactly you are afraid of by going with this way of eating. You should be able to mesh the two together. I mean if you are looking to eat healthier and are leaning towards no meat than simply begin by scaling back and see how you feel.
Or are you having issues with the fact that is vegetarians seem to lay some pretty strict rules out there and you aren't one of them unless you do exactly as they do. If that is the case, take the pressure off of yourself by believing that YOU are choosing what to eat or not to eat for YOU, not to please anyone else.

why are youdiscouraged. Ihave been a vegetarian for 27 years and I am healthy and fit. I eat soy protein and I take vitamins. I eat fish though.

Just feel good about the fact that when you eat a steak, you're eating a vegetarian.

If you really want to stop eating meat then you should. It would be healthy for you as long as you remember to get your protien from other sources like soy tofu or something. My mama is a vegetarian, but I'm not. I have thought about it though. I love to eat chicken too much.

i'm a vegetarian and i have to say it was hard at first, but being a vegetarian is very healthy and good for the animals and the environment. there are plenty of foods you CAN eat. you don't have to quit eating meat all at once. for example first stop eating red meats, then white meats, then seafood etc. good luck.

For the love of pete...meat was places here by God to eat. Not to ignore...If you don't eat meat then you obviously don't believe in God. Plus...it tastes SOOOOOO good...

Being a veggie rocks! Why not start out pescatarian (fish, no meat or poultry) The best way to do it is to reframe the way you think about it. Instead of focusing on the things you CANT have, focus on all the new things you CAN have. Being veggie doesnt mean just eating vegetables. You can have eggs (think omelet) meat substitutes, mac n cheese, stuffed baked potato, etc. I am a veggie and so is my 12 year old. We no longer miss meat and chicken at all (actually get grossed out by it-and I used to be a die hard meat lover) We love trying new ethnic recipes (I get great ideas from the ethnic section here). Stick with it, you will be glad in the long run. Nothing bleeds, screams, or dies a tragic death when I eat-and that makes me feel good.

Then don't be a vegetarian.
You can eat healthy and still have some meat.
Plants have feelings and react to stimuli- much the same way as animals- including humans.
If you're all against murdering animals- reconsider.
God gave us dominion over every thing on the Earth and that includes cows, chickens and fish.
Fish is GREAT for you. Not shell fish, FISH- you know, fins and gills.

It's a lifestyle and not a diet. Be blessed.

Being a vegetarian doesn't mean anyone has to stop drinking or eating dairy products. There are various types of vegetarians, some eat no meat, but do eat dairy products, including eggs, some vegetarians choose to eat only poultry or seafood. Vegans are the group of people who do not eat anything that comes from any animal source. Being a vegetarian requires a lot of reading of canned and boxed goods. (for ex. check canned biscuits for beef tallow) My boyfriend is a 10 year vegetarian, and is definitely not thin. It's all a moral issue with him...what is your reasoning?

why be discourage?people are treating their stomach as a graveyard for the carcass of animals, think of the number of dead animals being digested in a human in his whole life,no wander human is the biggest murderer and the biggest graveyard in the world[the stomach],so treat yourself and the animals with kindness.Go Vegetarian

im feelin the same way i feel tht my parents think me being a vegetarian is for the wrong reason. my dad keeps telling me to eat some meat and my mom thinnks its cuz im obsessed with my weight (which im not) , but im still sticken with. so if someone is tryin to disscourge you of going veggie then dont listen to them , if you kno ur doing it for the right reason then just dont listen to wut others say. ............thts the best advice i can give you.

If you want to be you would.
But I suggest doing research on both sides of the issue then settle on a choice. You can change your mind later however if you really wanted to you would.
