Do chips have animal fat?!
Do chips have animal fat?
Answers:
Most chips don't, but you need to read the ingredients on the back of the bag.
Depends on the brand.
Depends on what brand you buy. Your best bet is to get baked chips, not fried.
Not all chips are made the same way, you'll have to read the bag, but not normally!
i heard that some fish oils are used to make them
i have never heard of any animals tho
that would be so gross
i would not eat another chip !@@
um i dont think so but the best way to find out is to read the label on the back and it should tell you. If it doesn't tell you anything there than i doubt that you it has anything in there like that but maybe it does but really there is no way to tell.
Not any more, they changed
the way you can make fried
chips or fries, even donuts.
Even the fast food places
can't use animal fat now.
they have no animal fats in them.
Most chips do not now a days, and will state cooked in vegetabel oil, cooked in peanut oil/cooked in soybean oil. If they don't mention it on the package it will be in the ingredients list, chips are usually cooked in canola or soybean oil.
Some chips do have meat though, depending on the flavor, doritos is jsut cheese flavored (or ranch) and do not but you may have to be careful with certain brands such as "taco" flavored. Just read the back.
Things to look for in ingredients lists include lard, animal shortening, geletain, rennet, Glycerine, cochineal, carmine, or carminic acid.
If you are vegan though you will have a longer list of what to watch out for many have dairy fats, cheese dorritos would be one of those, as would cheddar and sour cream flavored chips.
I agree with john b. Look for baked not fried, cause if they are fried, they might be fried in lard or animal fat. I don't think so, though, because animal fat is more expensive than veggie oil.
Always read the ingredients though, because I know that some crackers have chicken fat.
Good luck, and I hoped that helped!
It depends on the brand.
all lays brand chips now use sunflower oil.
id say that most chips dont use animal fat.
Depends where you're getting your chips.
Re. 'get baked, not fried' -- I've never seen a 'baked' one that didn't have some fat in it. A completely fat-free chip would be pretty dry and unappetising.
Do you mean chips, crisps, or chips, fries?
One of the better-loved chip wagons here uses lard, so -- careful. But if you're talking about stuff in bags from the store, very few do. Just ask or read a label.
Chips are bad for you anyways,, you'll do better with out them anyways
Read the label.
i dont know. but a lot of foods that you would not even think of have animal fat in them. like most muffins from the store and french fries from mcdonalds. (burger king does not have it)
the best way to find out is to read the lable
and chips such as Lays potato chips, are made from all natual sun flower oil.
most brands advertise stuff like that, so just keep a lookout for those
