Congrats on listening to your conscience! VeggieBoards is a GREAT forum site for all kinds of vegetarians and vegans (and raw foodists), ESPECIALLY new ones. They have a special forum JUST for new vegetarians, where many people ask questions about how to deal with unsupportive parents (scientific fact sheets to show them, how do answer their "concerned questions", etc.), how to learn about nutrition so you stay healthy (always take a veg multi with B 12 - you'll end up healthier and more knowledgeable about nutrition than most meat eaters if you learn what your body needs), and how to handle all kinds of social situations. And we have all the answers! VeggieBoards also has great forums for cooking and recipes, brand reviews, and pretty much everything else conceivable that pertains to being veg*n! Welcome to our wonderful world of compassionate possibilities!

BEST IDEA U HAVE IN YOUR HEAD SO FAR.

DONT TO IT
MEAT IS AWESOME IT TASTES SO GOOD AND YUMMY

There are plenty of vegaterian recipes.
I do believe you do need vitamin supplements because you are going to have troubles otherwise.

when you don't eat meat you are protecting the planet. it takes way more time, energy, polution, and mess to rase animals then plants. check Suzuki’s websight. not eating meat once a week is one one of his top ten things to do yourself to protect the planet. and it is better for your body. your body can digest plants better than animals, so eating all plants takes less energy away from your body.

If you like meat, it's ok to eat it in small amounts, but you might want to combine it with lots of vegetables. For example, take a small portion of chicken and cut it up in small pieces. Then mix it in your salad with lettuce, tomatoes, green peppers etc. That way you still get meat, but you mix it with tons of vegetables.

Enjoy !

I recommend that you wait until you are 16 and re-evaluate if you still want to follow this path. Your body is still developing and a vegetarian diet leave your body needing more nutrients. A vegetarian diet can be quite rigid to follow. You might want to check out the book listed below for some more information.

okay my sister who in 8 became a vegetarian, my advies to her was only do it if it comes from the heart. because vegetarianism is a life style and something that you are going to want to do all you life.

just listen to you heart, and don't touch the ham or ribs.
If you are lying to yourself it wont work.

GO FOR IT! I started being a vegetarian when i was 13 and still staying strong!! Check out this book: The Diet for Teenagers Only, it is a good book that (even if you do not wish to loose weight) can help you decide what foods are good to eat and how to get in ur necessary foods for everyday. its a really easy/quick read, and ever since i picked it up and read it i feel like a healthier, happy veggie girl!!

HEY I'M A VEGATERIAN AND I'M 15. I THINK U SHOULD TRY IT. BUT U WILL GET US OF IT. I MOSTLY EAT FRID FISH AND SHRIMP IT'S GOOD.

i am going through the same thing. i am 13 and i want to be a vegetarian. but my mom wont let me unless i find another source of protein. i've looked onlikne and i found many recipes. but for us its going to be hard to be vegetarians because we are still growing. so if you feel woosy, sick, achy go to the docters office.
