Answers:
Actually, there are NO benefits to dairy. There are only problems. Hormone problems. Diabetes. Cancer.
While it's true there is a lot of calcium in milk, by the time it is processed for consumption, only 10% of that calcium is bioavailable to you. Which means your body can use it. So out of 300 milligrams of calcium in a cup of milk, you get 30. Half a cup of tofu has more than that. AND it's good for you.
Studies have shown that in an attempt to digest milk (as well as other animal proteins), our bodies leech calcium from our bones. Women who drink milk and eat cheese have more bone loss, fractures and breaks than women who do not.
See the article below from Physician's Committee for Responsible Medicine.
Let's talk about the "reduced fat" factor. People think skim milk is a good source of calcium. When in fact it's a toxin. Your body can't make heads or tails of this chemically altered Cow Sweat.
Yes. That's what milk is. Modified cow sweat. Learned that in my biology class.
From Wikipedia:
Mammary glands are the organs that, in the female mammal, produce milk for the sustenance of the young. These exocrine glands are enlarged and modified sweat glands and are the characteristic of mammals which gave the class its name.

we are not meant to be vegetarians
you must take vitamins, calcium, etc...
i'm a vegetarian and i respect that you want to become a vegan.
dairy foods contain protein which you can supplement with beans, pulses and quorn and it contains calcium which i'm not sure about but i think you can buy pills to supplement that.
Dairy products give you protein, calcium, Vitamin D and lactose.
You can get protein from beans and spelt (a whole grain, like rice).
Calcium from black eyed peas and broccoli (I think from collard greens, too).
Vitamin D I'm not sure about.
Lactose is a sugar. You can get fructose (another sugar) from fruit.
The big one that I thought of is calcium and you can get that from brocolli, dark leafy greens (kale, collard greens, etc.), nuts, or some beans.
Milk is for infants. Most people can't drink milk when they are older because they are lactose intolerant. We lack the enzyme needed to digest the milk. There are plenty of other ways to get the nutrients.
The benefits of not drinking or eating dairy products are vast. Dairy has a lot of hormones in it, a lot of blood and puss (yeah gross), can cause a lot of health problems, etc. The world believes we need milk, because that's how it is advertised. If they told us not to drink milk after infancy, the profits of the commercial dairy farmers would drop way way down. Here's some sites to look at:
