How do vegetarians feel about eggs in foods?
I kind of assumed that eggs were off limits for vegetarians, because they come from chickens and all. But, I picked up a cooking for vegetarians, and eggs were in recipes.

I would gladly consume eggs if I were not allergic to them. My 12 year old veggie daughter eats them. We get them from a local farm, and know the chickens are free range and treated humanely. People always try to tell my daughter she is eating meat if she is eating eggs, which is a load of codswallop. I explained to her, that like a woman who is not fertizlized has a menstrual period, same goes for eggs. It has never been fertilized, and therefor is not meat. Enjoy your eggs if you can have them. No need to listen to what others say you "can" or "cant" have-its your diet. Vegans do not eat eggs, as they do not use animal or animal byproducts at all.
Some vegetarians consider eggs off limits, some do not!
vegetarians don't eat meat, but they do eat dairy products. vegans don't eat meat or dairy products or anything that comes from an animal.
Most vegetarians will eat eggs. Vegans, however, will not.
vegans cant eat eggs, cheese or any other animal byproduct. vegetarians are different, they can eat those, but not meat.
I thought so too, because of the egg is a baby chicken ,but a lot of vegetarians eat them. Maybe because it don't have any bones. Lol
Most eggs are unfertilized so really they are just the egg its really a matter of how "vegan" you want to be I am a 7 year vegan and its hard to no do it with out eggs i just get the free ranged kind I can only eat so many nuts for protein in a week. or so many protein drinks
Most vegetarians do eat dairy products...Vegans don't at all. :)
only vegans don't eat products that come from animals such as eggs, milk, & butter
those vegetarians dont even know what to consider an egg. egg will become chicken, so they shouldnt eat it. they should eat grass. and thats what they do
There are three types of vegetarian; Vegetarian, Vegan and octo-lacto vegetarian. Vegetarians are willing to consume some animal byproducts such as gelatin while vegans don't eat anything that casts a shadow (that's a joke). It is a much more strict diet. The octo-lacto vegetarian will consume milk and eggs as these are not considered "animal cruelty". In my opinion, humans are evil tormentors. Kill, eat, kill, eat, and pray for forgiveness. Or eat a salad.
There are Vegetarians and then there are vegetarians.
Since eggs aren't in the veg category, people come up with all sorts of wacky explanations about how they can be a vegetarian and still eat eggs, milk, fish etc etc etc.

ONLY SOME vegetarians do not eat eggs. vegans are the ones that eggs, milk and stuff like that are off limits.
It depends on what kind of vegetarian you are refering to. Ovo-lacto vegetarians consume eggs. Others such as vegans and lacto-vegetarians don't.
As a vegan, I don't eat eggs, so eggs in my food is a nono.
