How can i diet being a vegan?
ofcourse when i first became a vegan i lost weight just from the changes i had made, but now that i know alot more food that is vegan i find myself only eating junk food for meals. i don't want to only eat fruit and veggies but is that the only way i can lose weight? or is there something else i can eat thats not bad for me or not strictly fresh veggies?
Answers:
Losing weight on a Vegan diet does not mean eating only fruits and veggies. You just have to put aside the junk (sweets, chips, cookies...) and focus on a healthy eating and that can include Tofu, lentils, beans, quinoa, millet, brown rice, nuts and seeds. The secret to not gaining weight is to exercise on regular basis and to eat in moderation taking in consideration the calories we put in. When I stopped eating junk food, sugar, pasta, desserts, I lost weight but I was still eating tofu, grains, seeds, whole grains, veggies...
Go on a detox diet. 21 days: Only raw and uncooked vegtables, nuts and brown rice. I lost 8 lbs and felt healthier than ever; mentally and physically.
By junk food, I'm assuming you checked PETAs "accidentally vegan" list and are more or less living off of that?
Anything packaged and processed is bad for you. Why? Because the nutrients are essentially killed off in order to give it a "shelf life."
Only fresh wholesome foods are really good for you. Whole grain breads and pastas. Legumes (beans). Seitan, which is a wheat "meat" so it really falls under grains. Canned beans are the exception to the rule since canned beans are pressure cooked which makes them easier to digest.
sure, there are plenty of things. Stir fry rice, quinoa, millet, red quinoa, rice pasta. Corn tortilla stuffed with seasoned beans, legumes, lentils, potatoes, baked, steamed or mashed. The junk food is whats causing the weight gain, likely.
Whole grains, fruit, beans, nuts, seeds
Whole wheat burrito with beans, salsa, and veggies. Filling and a good way to get veggies. Veggie sushi, vegetable soup is low in calories. Make sure you meals are balanced, or at least add a salad to it. Get light dressing, their are quite a few vegan types, such as i enjoy raspberry balsamic vinaigrette to add to veggies and salad. Always eat balanced, and exercise too! Bananas provide good energy for the exercise. Its not to hard to eat a balanced vegan meal.
There are peanuts, soups, sandwiches, veggie burgers, sushi, Lactose-intolerant dairy products.
If you exercise every day and not eat so much junk food you will lose weight.
Exercise. A lot of vegs make the mistake of thinking
they don't have to do this. You can eat most anything
as long as you exercise 1 hour a day.
As far as junk goes avoid hidden sugars like-
corn syrup, rice syrup solids, maltodexterin,
oat syrup, nut butters, fructose, sucrose,
etc. All the things I just listed are vegan but
they will pack fat on you in excess. Couple
that with insufficient cardivascular activity
and you will start to see extra pounds.
I hope this helps and if not I hope you get
an answer from someone else that you
can use. Eat lots of green and mushrooms
They will increase fiber and help you get rid of waste.
