I live in Greece, and its not so bad here... but...

Answers:
Then eat what they call "free range, or farm range". This is suppose to provide chicken and other animals with a more humane treatment. Meaning they let them roam around and be free on the farm instead of treated like horrible creatures in a cage. And they are suppose to kill them more humane than the kill houses. But, one never knows for sure.

the beef is slaughtered in a humane way. and animals are a renweable resource. God put the animals on Earth for humans to eat, but we should not mistreat them, thats not what im sayin.
:)

When you think about it, we only really like meat for the way we season and prepare it. I don't think most people would eat plain meat. What my 12 year old daughter and I do, is season and prepare veggies the way most people prepare meat. For example, we bread mushrooms, potatoes, eggplant, etc. with chicken breading (shake and bake type stuff, only we make it homemade to avoid the preservatives) and oven bake or deep fry it. It tastes just like chicken nuggets, but nothing had to bleed or die in order for us to eat. Eggplant, seasoned and cooked on the grill is delish, and again, nothing had to die

it does seem inhumane the way animals are treated.. they're basically just mass produced in a factory and treated like objects.. a lot of meat isn't good for you anyway.. I like meat too but I've been trying to develop a taste for vegetables, but I have a hard time eating them.. I think fish and seafood are a good compromise.. fish is better for you than red meat, and fish aren't as aware of what's happening to them as most cattle..

I don't think humane treatmeant of animals is possible when there's a huge emphasis on profits. Only by packing them tightly can they save space, cost etc. Free range is definitely better, but the animal still have to die in the end.
