What are some ready made vegetarian items i can buy from my local supermarket?!

Question:

What are some ready made vegetarian items i can buy from my local supermarket?

I recently became a vegetarian (about a month ago) and I love it. I feel better, have more energy, and I feel like I am doing something good for animals. I love veggie burgers because they are quick and easy to make and also delicious. I buy them at my local supermarket, and I was just wondering if you guys could recommend some other things I can buy at a local supermarket that are meat free but are quick and easy to make like a veggie burger. Also, if you could recommend some drinks and snacks that are vegetarian and good for your body, especially if they contain protein.

Answers:
soy milk is the power pack drink

its taste good, its high in protein and can be fortified with other nutrients

if you loved gelatin but you can't eat gelatin (its made from animals bones and muscle) try carreneggan or seaweed agar. The become semi solid when they are hard, almost like a gelatin.

if you take eggs and dairy with your diet, broccoli and cheese are actual powerhouse in calcium there is calcium in broccoli and cheese (duh)

try chickpeas, steamed and added with a little salt, they taste great.

peanut butter is good and easy. nothing like good old fashion PB and Jelly

Tempe made from soy beans are excellent. if you cut into strips and deep fry it with salt and cumin, it taste better than regular fries.

Check in the frozen produce department. There are many items, both single items, and complete (vegetarian) meals that are ready to heat and serve.

Boca burgers, veggie hot dogs, etc. go to walmart and look in the produce section, they even have "chicken" nuggets.

they have fresh fruits and veggs, you just peel the fruit and eat whats inside, for veggs it's kinda tricky, you have to wash it, and cut it in piece, then you eat it.

soy milk contains your protein, and peanuts, sunflowerseeds, soy beans, and nuts, eat lots of proteinnnnnnnn

At Walmart in the frozen foods, the product is Morning Side or something like that. It's in a green box. They are pretty good, and I'm not a vegetarian, I had a friend who was and ate it. They have like corn dogs, burgers, chicken patties, breakfast items.

well check if you have any Arab or Persian market next to you.
you can find some excellent Vine leaves, Spinach , beans.....

ask any Lebanese dud, he will give a million idea

Try to buy ready Hummus, Tabbouleh salad. Also know that you can buy Vegetarian nuggets, Veggie Dogs, Veggie slices...
In terms of drinks that are good for you, I would recommend soy milk and almond milk. You can make your own smoothies with frozen or fresh fruits. When it comes to snacks, if you want something healthy I like Lara Bars, nuts, baked corn chips. You can also buy soy pudding which is really delicious. You can find very high quality protein bars in health food stores, wholefoods depending on your budget.

Amy's Frozen foods are really good and most if not all are organic. Other quick and easy things include whole wheat pasta with a chunky sauce, veggie stir frys using frozen bagged veggies.

Well, I'm a vegetarian also. I just eat alot of fruits and veggies. Sometimes before I go to work I whip up a quick veggie Sandwich. I drink soy or skim milk, you could get tofu. That's one of my favs and is great for vegetarians!

Garden Burger BBQ Riblets, Kashi microwave meals- they have a lot of vegetarian/vegan ones, Amy's microwave burritos, HealthForWealth ChickenFree Patties and Nuggets (they even have spicy buffalo ones), and of course, there is no substitute for homemade hummus. Make a ton of it at once so that you have a lot on hand for the nights you don't want to cook.
