I became one because of the cruel, indecent ways animals are treated just to end up on someone's plate. I have been a veggie since I was 8 now, & am now 32. xxx

Well if you watch a video on animals being slaughtered, it's like you made a mistake eating meat. Plus it makes you more slimmer and healthier since most vegetarian or vegan food contains natural fat.

there are definetly reasons to be a vegetarian or vegan, i'm neither, because i enjoy eating meat, and i don't like other protien alternatives.
Some reasons people decide to not be carnivorous though can simply be health or money reasons. Eating only fruits and vegetables, as well as grains is good for you, because they contain less, if any cholestorol, fat and other bad for you stuff, but meat also has benefits when you eat appropriate amounts. Buying only grains, fruits and veg is way cheaper also, while buying any kind of meat can get pretty expansive.
Animal cruelty is also a reason for some people.

their are a million reasons to go veg, better for, your mind, you know you are not contributing to the fact that people raise and torture animals, just in the name of killing. better for your body, you lose weight and meat is harder to digest than plants, and it is better for the world, it takes allot of pollution to raise animals(tractors , trucks , clearing land etc.) is their any reason not to?

America's meat eating habits are bad.Half of the water used in the U.S. is used for animal agriculture.Our topsoil is damaged by raising animals for food,we only have about 6 inches of topsoil left,it takes 500 years for 1 inch of topsoil to be created.Every year in the US an area the size of Connecticut is lost to topsoil erosion--85% of this erosion is associated with livestock production.

With factory housing, irrigation, trucking, and refrigeration, as well as petrochemical fertilizer production requiring vast amounts of energy, approximately one gallon of gasoline goes into every pound of grain-fed beef.The direct and hidden costs of soil erosion and runoff in the US, mostly attributable to cattle and feed crop production, is estimated at $44 billion a year. Each pound of feedlot beef can be equated with 35 pounds of eroded topsoil.A nationwide switch to a pure vegetarian diet would allow us to cut our oil imports by 60%.Compared to a vegan diet, three days of a typical American diet requires as much water as you use for showering all year (assuming you shower every day). acre of land can produce 20,000 pounds of potatoes, but only 165 pounds of beef. In the U.S., 260 million acres of forest have been destroyed for use as agricultural land to support our meat diet (over 1 acre per person). Since 1967, the rate of deforestation has been one acre every five seconds. For every acre cleared for urban development, seven acres are cleared to graze animals or grow feed for them.
It completely depends on the individual, some don't like the taste of it, others care about animal welfare&the environment and increasingly ppl are worried about diseases and what food actually contains&where it came from

The recommended guidelines is that you should eat red meat and fish at least once a week
Cows, sheep and pigs etc are only grown for our consumption if we didn't eat them they wouldn't survive they would more than likely be extinct or there wouldn't be hardly any wondering around naturally
Fact we are meat eaters it is what we need to survive and grow healthily (Providing we eat it with the other sorts of food we need like fruit and veg grains all the thing we need to be healthy) Everything in moderation!!
If you choose not to eat meat because you think it is cruel to the animals or you simply don't like the taste then that is up to you but remember you will have to take allot of supplements and find out the right sort of foods that contain some of the goodness that meat does
It isn't healthy to be a Vegetarian or vegan as you are missing so many nutrients and proteins that humans need (hence we are meat eaters for a reason you don't get lions decide not to eat meat coz it is cruel!)
