Can you take multi-vitamins if you're a vegetarian?
I'm thinking about becoming a vegetarian, and I was wondering if I can still continue to take my daily multi-vitamin after I make the switch.
Answers:
yes you can, but watch out for those that have animal products in them, such as fish oil. check the ingredients on the label of any food (or vitamin) you aren't sure about. good luck on becoming a veggie! i have been since i was a young child (around 4 or 5) and i have never regretted it. =)

I don't think there is any meat in multivitamins. I know the ones I take dosent have any meat in them.
You can and you probably should from what I've heard.
To the best of my knowledge (which is primarily label reading) multi-vitamins contain no meat or dairy products. Don't believe everything you see in "I Love Lucy" reruns.
Most multivitamins are fine for vegetarians. Just make sure it's a tablet, not a gelatin capsule.
Make sure it doesn't contain Vitamin D3. D2 is fine.
i believe that would be fine, considering there's probably no meat in them, i guess depending on what kind of multi vitamins they are...
I'm not sure about vegan though...because there may be some animal products in there though i don't exactly know the products in multivitamins
No... a vegitarians colon will rupture if vitamins are taken in addition to veggie diet. Also, it is dangerous to breath while on a vegan diet.
What the hell kind of question is that? If you are so ignorant about diet and vitamins you surely are not capable of getting the true benifits of a vegan diet.
Do some homework first before you waste your time.
Yes, of course
Many medicine capsules are made with gelatin-boiled animal bones. vitamin d3-from skins of animals
You should buy specially made vegetarian friendly multivitamins from here https://secure15.nexternal.com/shared/st...
Most pregnant women (veg or meat) take prenatal multivitamins. Most people do not get the nutrients they need on a normal basis (including meat-eaters), let alone all the extras you need to properly care for baby on board.
Talk to your doctor about the best vegetarian multivitamin for being pregnant. Some doctors are still basing their information on VERY outdated nutrition (must have meat), so make sure you have a veg-friendly doc.
Vegetarians and vegans have perfectly healthy children.
Here is a link to at least 1 prenatal multivitimin. Print it out and ask your doc if it has all the right stuff you need.

Congratulations!
My friend is vegetarian and she takes multivitamins daily, so yes, you can. It's generally recommended that you do, because vegetarians often have difficulties maintaining proper daily intake of certain nutrients.
yes you should
Yes, I use vegetarian chewable vitamin/minerals for adults and children. It's by Pioneer and they are fruit flavored and yummy.
