What other food could be eaten to take the place of spinach?!

Question:

What other food could be eaten to take the place of spinach?

i am on a diet needing to trade some other food for spinach

Answers:
Brocoli, Greens, Peas, and FRUIT. I am 12 and don't like vegetables but i like fruit

water cress

brocoli asparagus or cauliflower

kale, endive, collard greens, yes collard greens

Arugula is a good trade for spinach in fresh salads.

Cooked spinach could be replaced with another dark green vegetable like broccoli or kale.

Good luck with the healthy diet.

peas

Just about any of the dark leafy greens, like Kale, Chard, Collards, Mustard greens, etc. The one I like best cooked is Swiss Chard or Beet greens. They are less bitter when cooked than spinach, and mustard greens are the bitterest of all.
But of any of them, actually raw spinach in a salad is a lot milder, because it doesn't get bitter til you cook it. There's also a precut packaged salad mix called "spring mix" that's pretty rich in dark greens, and tastes great.
1/2 cup cooked greens is equal to 1 cup raw

Collards, Kale, Turnip greens, lettuce.

V-8 juice

Collards, mustard greens, kale, butter lettuce, are some good ones.

I know that collards & other greens should be thoroughly cleaned and cooked before eating for better digestion. Collards also have a tobacco-y like flavor that takes some getting used to; it's a common side dish in soul food restaurants.

You can cook butter or Boston lettuce if you like, there are some recipes out there for gourmet soups and stews featuring it. I would not substitute iceberg in the same recipes. Bleaah!

Dandelion greens
