Are there any vegatarians?!

Question:

Are there any vegatarians?

Why did you choose to be a vegatarian? Is it hard to find other things to eat? Do you take it seriously?

Answers:
I decided to be a vegetarian because of 3 reasons.

1. Animal torture, practically everything animal you can eat has been horribly tortured.
2. Health, I've lost weight and don't get sick anymore. I'm stond as an ox. I feel amazing. My husband went vegetarian with me too and lost 50 lbs in 4 months!
3. Environment. did you know that over half the U.S. soil is used to raise cattle? and if we used that soil to plant grains we could end world hunger in a matter of months? plus, all that cattle poops, and cow poop has methane gas which is directly linked to polution and global warming.

Give it a try, you'll feel tons better. check out this website www.goveg.com they have a 2 miute video you should see. also check out the movies "fast food nation and super size me"

My favorite veggie brands are Morning star and boca. they have burguers, hot dogs, "chick'n" and "ground beef" When I'm out, I eat cheese or veggie pizza, baked potatoes or mexican food like cheese enchiladas, or avocado tortas. I could never go back, It has truly made me a better person

My dad is a vegetarian. He is a very sensitive and sympathetic person. He won't ever tell us why he is vegetarian but because of his personality we are sure it is because he cares for animals. He has been vegetarian for decades. He takes it pretty seriously but if he is sick or in a pinch, he will eat foods containing chicken broth. (He doesn't like to make too much trouble for others.)

This is why I choose to be a vegatarian: http://meat.org
It isnt hard to find things to eat because I eat pretty much everything else.
Yes,,I take it very seriously.

It seems that the Vegetarians on this site think they are living an alternative lifestyle by being a vegetarian.

We are a dime a dozen in this world.

I initially was forced to become one, when I developed an allergy to meat protein. In researching that, I learned how horribly animals are treated in the food processing industry, and how toxic the meat supply actually is. Once I had all the facts, it wasnt at all hard to make the transition. Meat and poultry disgust me now, I can't even look at them in the grocery store. No, its not hard to find other things to eat. I discovered the great wide world of ethnic cuisine, and am eating foods I would never have even heard of, such as pupusas, and arancini. My diet is more creative and interesting than ever before, and being a gourmet chef, I always relied on meats as a basis to my meals. I often have guests for dinner, and if I don't mention that a dish is vegetarian, they don't even realize there is no meat. Yes, I take it very seriously. I do not think some beautiful creature should have to suffer, bleed and die so I can stuff my face. There is such a huge variety of other good food options. I simply wont support it. I believe you ARE what you eat, and I don't particularly like thinking of myself as a dead, tortured animal

short & sweet: i love animals, the earth and i respect the enviornment i live in. I cherish my health and my body and i LOVE being a veggie :D

it's so easy. i've been veg for 7 years now [i'm 21] and i never have never will regret my choice. I doubt i'll ever go back.

Hard to find other things to eat? Not at all. Do you just eat meat and nothing else?

I eat all kinds of whole grains (pastas, rice, breads), veggies, fruits, beans and make and eat the same things you do except without the meat. I have tacos, lasagna, casseroles, sandwiches etc. I just replace the meat with something else.

I became vegetarian because I never liked meat and actually realized one day that I hadn't eaten meat for months. This was 35 years ago. Eventually I stopped eating eggs, honey and dairy products as well, and I have hundreds of ideas what to cook. Do I take it seriously? What do you mean? This is the way I live because I want to, not because I have to.
Both my children grew up as vegetarians and became vegan before I did.
