LogisticsQuestions for PETA?!
LogisticsQuestions for PETA?
PETA strongly opposes eating meat and keeping animals in captivity, whether it be for food or recreational purposes. I don't have a problem with those beliefs. However, they want everybody to become vegetarians. Let's assume they convinced most of the country (or world) to do this.
What happens to all of the animals that have been domesticated and raised for food? Would they just be released to roam free? They would keep reproducing, so there would be chickens, cows and pigs running free everywhere. Wouldn't this be a logistical nightmare? How would we control this? After all, we can't just kill them off, right? Would we be competing against these animals for food once again? What is PETAs plan AFTER they convince everybody to go vegetarian?

Just a couple other facts to consider:
There are more chickens in the world than people.
Cows give off methane gas which is harmful to the
environment.

The vegetarian movement is too slow to
give this particular scenario any real
consideration. But to answer this hypothet-
ical I would say that phasing out factory
farming over a period of time is much
preferable to the chaos and bedlam
you're describing.
The majority of the population will
only quit eating meat if they see it
as a threat to their health.
We're at least a century away from
evolving into a mostly veg-society
borrowing a cataclysmic disease
epidemic that is
borne from livestock.
This has nothing to do with the question, but an interesting fact about PETA. Did you know it is common place for PETA to KILL animals? The people who are for protecting our animals are ones who kill them.
You are thinking inside "too small" of a box.
Think of teh universe at large, think of PEOPLE being caged like you describe "chickens" being treated by man... and picture creatures saying the same thing about HUMANS that you are saying about chickens.... like "those dirty humans so many on welfare and so many of them cutting and burning so many logs and burning chemicals of toxic proportions into teh air... etc"
FIRST OFF PETA is "wrong" : in their speakings on NEUTER AND SPAY, as far as my emails with them they advocate forced "neuter and spay" which is in fact NON-vegan and thus, well they are WRONG.
BUt as far as creatures, picture a REFUGE for all teh peaceful creatures and perhaps the helping hand of man to help other creatures who need some help being vegan....
VEGANISM IS FOR ALL~ RISE TO THE TRUTH, the sooner YOU do ~ the sooner you will be better, trust in this.
IT IS ABOUT LIFE, it is about the UNIVERSE.
thats actually an excellent question! But, we don't go killing off people for over populating, now do we? I guess it would be like dogs and cats-spay or neuter when possible, leave the rest to procreate. The one thing I do know, is if there were as many grain farms as cattle farms, there would be enough grain to end world hunger. It costs more in water, waste management, and pollution control attempts to raise animals than to grow crops.
Yes, animals would be able to live in the wild as they were intended to. This would not be a problem, nor would there be any overpopulation because nature has its own way of keeping its balance. Animal diseases happen, other animals prey on other animals, and severe weather conditions occur. Animals will naturally die due to various reasons, but this is a normal balance. We don't need to interfere and try to be God. Let nature run its course. Like they say, "live and let live".
first of all, the animals in farms prys for death, if everyone stop eating meat overnight, alot of people will lose their jobs, at resturants, factories, farms, meat delivery driver, so that's a bigger problem then
having chicken running in the street, according to you
chickens are smart, i saw some chickens by the side of the road near where i live, they are not fenced in, they just roam around, and they never get on the road to get run over, smart chickens, i like em
