Are you a vegetarian?!

Question:

Are you a vegetarian?

What made you want to become one? I had watched some video on a vegetarian website called Meet Your Meat. it was about factory farms and how they treat the animals. not only do i now feel disgusted when looking at meat, but I feel really awful for what animals had to go through to end up in our stomachs.
anyways, did you become a vegetarian like that or some other way?

Answers:
No

there wa a vain in my hot dog when i was 11 have not eaten a piece of meat since,,,, it was the end of a meat life

I'm vegannnn which is no meat dairy eggs honey or products that were made tested on animals and I did it to lose weight but than I started researching about animals rights and thats why I do it now :D

I became a vegetarian because I do not believe in killing . Their are so many other choices out there . I feel if I can not kill it why should someone else do my "dirty work " .

yes. i became a vegetarian when i was 5. the agricultural industry treat animals like crap befoe they are slaughtered. Most animals never get enough space, clean air, and are not handled with care. They are tortured in certain instances... like veal.. when calves are stuffed into small cages. Humans have no necessity to do this.. and no its not right to eat meat just because it tastes good. Also, some experts believe that if the whole world was vegetarian, then world hunger would be solved. The amount of food we produce for animals, if we ate ourselves, then there would be more land being used directly for human food, and therefore more food in total, lowering prices so that poorer people can afford it.

Growing up, I always picked the meat out of my meals. When I did eat it, I felt sick. I've been a vegetarian for almost 13 years now and I chose my lifestyle because I just couldn't stomach eating meat.

I was actually making eggs on day and saw blood inside of it. Then a couple of months after that I was on my way to the store and I saw a poultry shop. My mom told me what they did in their (kill the chickens). Then I saw Meet Your Meat. From then on I decided that meat was not for me.

ME NO WAY

my friend who is a vegan tried to convert me to vegetarianism, and taught me how to become one.

because he beleives if he can convert one person, just one person, and that one person converts one person, the ball gets rolling, soon we will save lots of animal, and that's good enough for me, he converted me, and I hope to convert one person one day.

/just one

No. But I am not one of those fat slobs who eat nothing but meat. I am one of those who believe God put animals like deer on this planet for a reason, to EAT. for food.

But I eat my veggies, dont worry

I am not, but the only time I have meat is an occasional chicken patty sanwhich, maybe a hamburger or bacon once a year. I do feel badly for the animals, & I try not to eat too much of it

I became vegan for basically the same reasons... I had a sociology class that had a section on animal cruelty, and we watched a lot of videos and had a lot of readings that really disturbed me... the one that pushed me over the edge was this video about a dog lab in some medical school.. they broke a dog's legs just to do surgery on it, and the dog wasn't fully asleep, so it was whimpering the whole time... I can normally watch surgery shows with no difficulty, but I almost passed out in class, I guess b/c I knew the dog was in pain. That day I just stopped eating meat, and a couple days later I stopped eating dairy, too.

That was 2 years ago, and I'm eating dairy again, b/c I went to southern Brazil and they didn't have very many vegan foods, so I had to eat something... and now I'm thinking about going back to vegan.

no I'm not a vegetarian nor would i become one. some of the stuff i think is made up about these factories and stuff to get people to believe this stuff. which alot are global as it is. and believes it. if all this was a fact then why ain't this stuff spread cross the world in news and stuff. and if it is then i haven't seen any of it. I'm not saying some ain't true. when you did eat meat how else did you think you got to eat it. and you never thought about it until you watched some video. that showed you this stuff. i don't have a problem with vegetarians since that is your choice and all. i think it's missed used is all. So what type of vegetarian are you? some eats eggs and peanuts stuff like that and others don't. and if you eat eggs that poor chicken. just my opinion is all. but if you feel better about your health and the choice you made then that is all that matters.

I had always known that it was wrong of me to eat an animal, ever since I was very young, but it took alot of motivation and that exact same video, is what really did it for me. Then doing research and knowing what exactly goes on.

I'm not a vegetarian. But I still eat a lot af vegetables!! I love veges.

since you asked....I became a vegetarian by fluke.
I moved to a remote Island in British Columbia, Canada, and...believe it or not we did not have a Fridge.
So "flesh" was out.
So was cows milk.
I had to figure out in a hurry how to feed my family healthy and a satisfying meal.
I won!!!!!
We are now vegetarians.
We grow all and every vegetable ourselves. I make "milk" from rice and almonds, or cashews.
I bake my own bread.
We use barley malt for sweeteners.
So, as you can see we didn't change because I saw a film on the conditions of slaughter houses.
Thanks for asking. It was fun sharing with you.

i became i a vegetarian 3 years ago when i was 11 and would never go back to eating meat. i think its cruel and i also dont like the taste of it, i cant see how blood and flesh tastes nice?!?!

but.. i dont dis-respect people eating meat, we all have decisions in life, mine is just not to eat it =)

Wow how strange! I just watched that video yesterday that I was so disgusted by meat that I am trying out vegetarianism right now. I've been considering this last week and think it is for me. I always ate halal/kosher/organic meat but now I just feel disgusted by it. Also, eggs and milk are taken from some of the most poorly treated animals. Plz go organic. Good luck!

well it was sort of like that, but i didn't see a video or anything. i just realized that it was cruel to eat a living thing that was born, fattened and raised on a farm, and then killed just so you could eat it. i was very little, but i have always had compassion for animals.

I started becoming aware of the cruelty and suffering animals go through. I first did it to lose weight but after a month i needed motivation, because i thought i was going to start eating meat again so i went to www.peta.com and watched all the videos on how the animals are treated! i was a vegan for a while, and i'd love to be able to be one but i was told to start eating meat again by my doctor [which i didn't do because i was perfectly fine being a vegetarian]

I became a vegetarian when my grade eight class was dissecting a pig lung and heart and it really grossed me out. then i got to thinking and was like are they killing these animals just so we can see what is on the inside and dissect them. I thought it was completely cruelty to animals. I talked to my teacher after and she assured me that the animals were going to die for us to eat anyway. After that i was totally like that is so stupid that the animals should die just for us to eat so i just stopped eating meat altogether. I still will eat eggs and milk still.

Yeah, I am one. Well it was because of religion and health, but mainly health.

However, I had once saw a video which was stealthily taken. The guy went under disguise as a worker. I saw pigs being electrified, cows slaughtered inhumanely, pigs killed by throwing big slabs of bricks at their heads, and chickens thrown into hot water with them still clucking their heads off. I was about 8 at that time and I was so shocked to see that. How could you bear to eat animals killed cruelly, just for our pleasure of eating meat? It is just sick!

no im not one
i love me meat
