Why does a veggie diet cause flatulence?!

Question:

Why does a veggie diet cause flatulence?

If the cult veggie diet is supposed to be so healthy, then why does it cause so much flatulence?

My mother-in-law visited again and she was dropping air pockets like they were going out of style. She has been on this insane vegan diet and I have been telling her to start eating a healthy well balanced diet that includes meat and dairy. I even showed her one of my medical journals that documented the importance of meat and dairy in the diet.

I'd rather have flatulence than colon cancer,it won't kill you.

Globally, cancer of the colon and rectum is the third leading cause of cancer in males and the fourth leading cause of cancer in females. The frequency of colorectal cancer varies around the world. It is common in the Western world, and is rare in Asia and Africa. In countries where the people have adopted western diets, the incidence of colorectal cancer is increasing.

Diets high in fat are believed to predispose humans to colorectal cancer. In countries with high colorectal cancer rates, the fat intake by the population is much higher than in countries with low cancer rates. It is believed that the breakdown products of fat metabolism lead to the formation of cancer-causing chemicals (carcinogens). Diets high in vegetables and high-fiber foods such as whole-grain breads and cereals may rid the bowel of these carcinogens and help reduce the risk of cancer.

Major sources of fat are meat, eggs, dairy products, salad dressings, and oils used in cooking. Fiber is the insoluble, non- digestible part of plant material present in fruits, vegetables, and whole-grain breads and cereals. It is postulated that high fiber in the diet leads to the creation of bulky stools which can rid the intestines of potential carcinogens. In addition, fiber leads to the more rapid transit of fecal material through the intestine, thus allowing less time for a potential carcinogen to react with the intestinal lining.

Your healthy diet obviously hasn't done much to cure your twatism.

Seriously, dude, how much entertainment value can you get out of flogging one very tired old horse?

pooooooeeeeeeee

haha good point

There is a lot of fiber in vegetables and that's what causes the flatulence. I think you could have a healthy diet without eating meat. You would have to consume a lot of beans and nuts to get your protein, which would put you back to the same problem with flatulence.

I thought you asked this question already? no?

depends on what and how and when shes eating, vegan diets are not insane, feasting on the rotting corspes of dead animals is insane. oftentime eating fruit after other foods leads to flatulence as fruit breaks down very quickly and can ferment if trapped in the gut. pull ur head out yer bum and give her support instead of being a know all git

Wow it's foxie again, with another exciting story based around vegetarianism, wow your life must be so exciting....
i mean all those " dying and sick" vegan and vegetarians you know!
I hope tomorrow to hear some stories from you about vegans, maybe a tortured little baby suffering from heart disease due to a vegan diet, or how about abused pets who are forced to only eat veggie pet food? ;)

Foxie you've asked this before!

I'll answer again though as I'm bored.

Vegan diets contain much more fibre so this can happen especially over the first month or 2 as your digestive system adjusts.

The big plus is that high fibre diets massively cut the risk of bowel cancers which are a huge killer in the western world. The reason is believed to be that western diets tend to be high in refined sugars and fats but low in fibre.

She probably does it on purpose! I would do the same thing if you were my son-in-law! Be glad she did not spit on your lobster, or throw sand on your son's ham sandwich. :P

because not all vegetables has protien.

All right! Another question from Foxhunter_guy!

Another two points for me, for telling the guests in this forum that you are a troll living a fictitious life in a fictitious place where all the people except yourself are vegan.

Check out this guy's questions!!!!!!

Probably all the veg she eats. Nowt wrong with a good fart. Better than an obnoxious oaf.
If you aren't deliberately trying to offend vegans and vegetarians why did your avatar show a hunted stag?
Edit: P.S. You might have better success with your aims if you didn't keep making up daft stories to promote them.

"Cult"?!! Hilarious.

Foxy baby.

Are you still upset about that dutch oven my mom pulled on you?

You know she just likes to tease.

on my recent travels to india last year i asked a hindu health guru the same question his answer was you cant beat a good shite eat meat raw or alive f**c animals

Does eating meat cause amnesia? You have already asked this one except you said your poor mum in law was sniffing her trouser gas !

Is she an insane vegan like the other seven bajillion people in your (fictional town) ? How are my cult brothers and sisters doing? xx

P.S you ask a lot of questions about her.!!!Go and see your shrink, an oedepus complex is not healthy, and your bf will be heart broken!!!!

OK. I think i know now why Foxie hates vegans so much (for those of you who don't know him, read his other Q&As)....
Because his mother-in-law is vegan!

PS. I've noted that Foxie has now moved a step further talking about cult and insanity when it comes to the vegan diet. This guy is on a mission.
I'm surprised he hasn't mentionned yet the experience he's had at the shoeshop in Veganville where the (obviously) vegan shop assistant (who had very bad skin, was very pale, had bad breath, was farting all the time and who was brain damaged due to vitamin B12 defficiency) was destroying all the shoes in the shop with a knife when Foxie came in, and who then kicked him out of the shop (before stripping him of his shoes), refusing to sell him any shoes because they were all made of leather, and that's killing animals. Poor Foxie is now walking barefoot. What do you think, should he report the shop assistant to the manager?

the very same reason that a meat eating diet does. some people have a difficulty digesting certain foods and some foods are more difficult to digest when mixed with certain food. may i suggest your M.I.L. see a gastro doc for her farting. once a again f.h.g. you have been reported for breaking the guidelines in part of your question.

What the hell is wrong with you?
For every time you consume meat you have just contributed to starvation, famine, and the death of someone in a Third World country. The crops and water that were fed to the animals you eat could have been used to feed somebody.
The fact is, if everybody were vegetarian, there would be no such thing as famine and starvation. The tons of water and crops that are wasted on feeding farm animals could be used to feed and water every single person on the planet plus more.
Imagine you are a person living in Ethiopia - you haven't eaten or drank water for 2 weeks - you feel weak, you can't even stand up, you feel sick, you're delirious, and the hunger is causing you physical agony - all you need is a little to eat and to drink a bit of water. But that food and that water has just been fed to a cow. And because of that, you will now die, within hours, probably even minutes.
Or, imagine that person starving is your child. Does that make you hurt? I hope so, because that's just happened to somebody elses child.
While I've written this, about 12 more children have died from starvation. Starvation caused by the meat industry, and starvation and death caused by you. I hope you're proud, now get a damn life
