How long will a pitcher of green tea retain its nutrients?
If I make a pitcher of green tea (by putting tea bags in a pitcher full of cold water) and refrigerate it, will it's nutrition content last a week without degrading?
Instead of preparing a cup each day, I'd like to just have apitcher of green tea in my fridge I can pour a cup of whenever I want.
Answers:
The healthiest way is to brew it and dirnk it while it is hot.
Leaving it too long would cause the catechins to oxidise, pretty much like an apple turning brown.
That is the reason why manufacturers add things to green tea to keep it longer, such as vitamin C.
Would putting it in the fridge delay the oxidation? I don't know.
The link below contains a link to a free ebook which explains which is the healthiest way to dirnk green tea - hope it helps.

I make a half gallon every other day & sweeten it with agave nectar. It tastes fine, but I can't say what the nutritional value is. I also drink 2 cups in the a.m., so I guess that gives me the antioxidants, etc.
good luck
