Got any suggestions for a no-carb diet for a vegetarian?!
Got any suggestions for a no-carb diet for a vegetarian?
I did it before and had great success with the weight loss, and it's stayed off for almost 2 years so far. It was just very very hard to find yummy stuff to eat after the first few days.
Here's the catch, besides not eating meat: I really hate eggs. Picky indeed!! Any suggestions?

I meant "as close to no-carb as possible." Yes, it's very hard to be totally no-carb!

no carb no. You mean lowcarb. No food from the bottom of the food pyramid, right? But I would still eat some fruit, (which technically is a good "carb")
Try veggie sandwich fillings like beans, hummus an d avacado. But instead of breads, use a romaine lettuce leaf. I would also eat peanut butter on veggies and fruit. Also a great idea is fondue with veggies for dipping. You can also buy pasta made from artichokes or spinach so its low carb. I would also make bean chili, but not too spicy so you can eat it without rice or bread.
and bean soup
The fake meat products in the freezer section of your store have very, very few carbs. My favorite is something called Leanies made by Worthington and is only available at the health food store in my town. They have only have one carb each after you minus the one gram of fiber that is. :o)
Green veggies, like green beans and broccoli have only a few carbs.
I also want to add that the fruit with the lowest carbs is berries. When I did low carb I would buy a bag of frozen blueberries, put a little in a bowl, add a little half and half (or cream) and some splenda and mush it up if you'd like. The frozen blueberries freeze the half and half and you end up with a yummy ice cream!
Try this for dinner, take a few green veggies, broccoli, Chinese pea pods, etc., and cut up a bit of tofu. Stir fry them in a little olive oil and a dash of salt for flavor. Sprinkle a bit of mozzarella or other cheese on top. Yummy! Have your homemade blueberry ice cream for dessert.
Good luck!
Carbohydrates are an important part of your diet, eat them.
