A question for vegetarians..?!
A question for vegetarians..?
Why, if you don't eat animals do some of you eat eggs???
Answers:
All you are doing is showing your ignorance as to what an unfertilised egg is.
An unfertilised egg has no chance of being a living form.
i'm a vegan, so avoid eggs, but its not a moral issue for vegetarians - eating an egg does not require the death of any animal.
well I don't eat eggs at all.
I do not eat eggs, it's just a personal choice of how far you want to extend your actions, and your personal views. ^^
because they are not vegans
Everyone is different - I tell people \i am a veggie because it is just easier - I hate anythign with eggs in - but only if i see it being made. I am a bad veggie cos I will eat bacon rolls.
I aint a veggie, but my gf is one, as hard as i've tried, i can not get an answer to that question, and the debates have gone on and on
Why not, its an unfertilized egg, the hen discarded it and no longer needs it, so it would be a waste to leave it lying on the ground. The hens we get eggs from are well cared for, and roam freely, eating a natural diet. No harm comes to them at all. Same with milk from our happy, pampered cow
Because we aren't vegans - we don't eat animals, but we do eat things that come from animals (dairy, egs etc) Eggs are not animals; They are not (contrary to popular belief) baby chickens - they are actually more like a chicken's period - the ones we eat are not fertilised. How do you know? I hear you ask, well my answer would be, I own my own chickens but I don't own a coc...
Because vegetarians aren't veagans. Veagans don't ANYTHING from an animal, not even the things they produce naturally e.g. milk, eggs.
cuz animals aren't killed for their eggs
i think its a bit of a stupid question really...
MOST eggs are unfertilised, but in the paper last week there was a story about a family who had their own farm, that bought a box of eggs but decided to see whether or not the chicks would hatch. Funnily enough after some time in their incubators, two chicks hatched.
I will admit though, that the eggs were from a private farm and not from a mass produced place, but still.
It's all down to personal choice and what your view is on what eggs are.
Some ppl eat eggs for the protein, bec when you're a vegetarian that's one thing that your doctor tells you that you're lacking in your diet.
vegetarians don't eat animal flesh
vegans don't eat animal flesh or animal products eg;eggs cheese,milk,yogurt,butter,hone...
I'm a vegetarian and i eat eggs for the reason that chickens aren't killed for their eggs are they so i don't see what the problem is but there are so many different opinions about how far vegetarianism goes as far a vegans and only eating white meat. Eggs don't harm the animal so why shouldn't you eat them?
I would say some are pure vegans - people who choose not to eat anything that comes from animals, including eggs, milk and cheese. Many are not pure vegans. Many other people have decided not to eat certain kinds of meat for one reason or another. For example, I choose not to eat beef, pork, chicken, lamb etc. Why; mostly because of the antibiotics and hormones put into the feed used on those animals.
However, I do eat wild caught fish and seafood.
I don't-I am a vegan.
I think there are 2 reasons why some do.
They either think they need eggs in their diet or they don't understand how eggs involve cruelty.
when you menstruate you drop an unfertilized egg and flush it down the toilet (it's so small you can't see it). a chicken egg is an unfertilized egg, just from a different animal. unless you value chicken (or other poultry) eggs more than human eggs your a hypocrite. there are cruelty free eggs

I don't know what vegetable eggs come from so I don't eat them.
Eggs are a product of an industry that tortures chickens.
"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated "-- Mohandas Gandhi
After you watch this video you will doubt your greatness and moral progress.

The chicken eggs that you buy in the grocery store are unfertilized eggs. They don't start growing chicks unless a rooster adds his two cents to it. Chickens lay eggs constantly, whether they're fertilized or not.
Of course, the egg and dairy industry can be just as cruel as the meat industry. I've considered going vegan, but since I already have a hard time living as a vegetarian with three omnivores, it's not happening until I'm completely on my own.
the chicken is not killed when you eat an egg. I try my best to buy cage free.
For me I do not think of eggs as an actuall living creature. They are not incubated by the hen (and probably unfertilized) and wouldn't have hatched anyway, so my opinion is eggs are ok. Although they do have be laid by free range hens
i eat eggs cause there high in protein
I am full hearted vegetarian and I do eat eggs.
That means I'm a
lacto/ovo vegetarian
that means I don't eat meat or fish but i do eat dairy.
becuase eggs are slaughtered and most egg would not become a chicken anyways
I dont eat eggs
some do, some vegetarians like from the east (asia countrys)
in their country vegetarians do not eat eggs, because it's considered meat
in america the vegetarians can eat egg and milk and cheese
although I am a vegan and do not eat eggs..I would like to explain it ..chickens must lay eggs ..it is the same as you getting your period but your eggs are microscopic and come out with the blood ..a chicken has no choice but to lay eggs..same as you..Eggs have external fertilization..the rooster must come to the egg and fertilize it for any life to begin ...if you keep the roosters away the eggs would just rot and could Never become chickens..vegans do not eat them Not because they are meat or an animal ..we have problems with the conditions he chickens live under..Hope this helped
eggs are not flesh and no animal was slaughtered.
I am a vegetarian who eats eggs. I don't eat meat because I don't like the taste or feel of it, not on principle.
I have no problem with anyone eating meat as long as the animal was looked after and killed humanely before hand.
Eggs are not animals.
It's the chickens that lay the eggs that I worry for so I only eat free range eggs.
If you want to ask that, you could extend it to why do vegetarians consume milk & dairy products or honey - all are animal byproducts in the same way as eggs.
