What are reall good reasons to become a vegan or vegetarian?
Answers:
The reasons to become a vegetarian or vegan ..in my opinion first and foremost is to stop the unnecessary killing and abuse of farm animals..you will get tremendous health benefit no matter what people say ..the FACT is vegetarians live on average 8 years longer with much better health..some people do not even care about the animals but do it strictly for health ..so what does that say..People who are clue less and think it is not healthy have not studied health or nutrition... and some are rather uninformed as Lindsey who thinks we eat minks..and raccoons..and wolves ..(much of where fur comes from)..being a vegetarian is excellent for the environment and pollution as well ..there are a lot of websites that will go into life expectancies..etc..check this one out to see who was and is..tell me if they don't look healthy ..brad Pitt , Brooke shields etc..http://www.happycow.net/famous_vegetaria... last I sleep every night very well knowing I am not contributing to the suffering of creatures we are supposed to protect and that were entrusted in our care as we are supposed to be the smartest...but as others have said ..you need to research and think this over..so just my opinion..
clean out your system and live and feel healthy
No one can persuade you to become vegetarian or vegan, it is a choice you have to make yourself or else you wont want to maintain it. Do some reasearch on the topic and draw your own conclusions. If it is not right for you, then so be it.
There aren't any, if you don't get the meat and protien that you are supposed to, you will become malnourished, and for the people that say killing animals is wrong, that's what they're here for, to eat, and the fur clothing, there is nothing wrong with that if you have used the meat to eat and then taken their fur, it would have gone to waste anyways.
you will become pale and will not be able to be seen in the snow
You will get sicker more in the winter then the summer
People will make jokes about you all the time, even if you aren't there
you will all ways worry about where and what will i eat today
i dont see any reasons i think ppl need meat in there diet.. not every day but atleast 1-2 meals a week!
You need to go do the research on this for yourself. Becoming a vegetarian or a vegan is a big step, and you need to know why you're doing it. If you don't strongly believe in it, you'll probably revert to an omnivorous diet.
Do the research, come to your own conclusions.
i am sorry i cant tell you alot but if you want to be a vegertarian you need to tell your mom and you can NOT eat meat or anything like that if you did not know!!!!!!!!!! I hope you get good answers for your answers!!! How come you want to be a vegetarian???????? Do you like meat if you do you can NOT be a vegetarian!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Being a vegetarian can be a very healthy lifestyle if its done right. You can substitute the protein you would get from meat with soy protein. Try a Gardenburger or Boca burger instead of a hamburger. You can also get protein from other beans and nuts. Don't just stop eating meat; make sure you still get all the nutrients you need from another source.
Many people who become vegetarians don't like the idea of eating animals or just don't like the texture of meat.
I know several ppl that are vegetarians because of following reasons:
- my grandma strictly non-meat eater because of her Buddhist religion
- my Brasilian friend doesn't eat meat just because she just doesn't like the taste, the texture & the smell of it, she feels yikes. She finds meat unappetizing at all. However, she eats eggs.
- her husband loves meat, but because she never cooks meat at all, so he also becomes a vegetarian. He just can't change this habit anymore, so when he eats at restaurant he automatically orders vegetarian food.
- my Spanish sis-in-law used to eat meat, but since she watched on the TV how they slaughtered living animals to be served on the plates, she just couldn't stop thinking of this, so she decided to give up eating meat & fish, however she still eats eggs.
- I think if I see the whole process how they torture living animals, I'm sure I wouldn't eat it too. For the moment I'm still eating, but just 3 kinds (chicken, beef, pork), the others e.g. rabbit, lamb, horse, fish, anything that lives in water, etc, I can't.
- my Indian friend doesn't eat meat, fish, incl. eggs because she is raised in this family tradition from generation to generation, although she isn't Hindi, but catholic.
- my co-worker doesn't eat meat because of her health concerns; her doctor said her level of iron & protein in her body are too high. So she has to do meat diet.
- My Italian friend doesn't eat meat because she wants to stay slim. She said meat makes her put on weight easily. For her, vegetarian is her healthy life style.
- my husband used to not eating meat at all for almost a year because we were too broke :) lol (It's true!)
- I don't really eat meat because I just don't feel it necessary to be in my everyday meal. I could have meat diet for months without problems. Instead of meat, I consume alternative vegetables or milk products that provides protein, iron & calcium.
- I used to avoiding meat because it reminded me my 1st cook experience when I saw blood running out from animal flesh during cutting. I felt it disgusting!! Now, I can cook & eat meat, only if I buy it clean & ready-to-cook.
- someone told me, he doesn't eat meat because of his belief that animals could be reincarnation of human being in former life.
- my cousin decided to omit flesh from his menu plan after the outbreak, animals contamination (crazy cow, chicken flu, etc.) He scares for any risks.
- my sis was vegetarian for certain period when she made a promise to her God in exchange of her fulfilled wish.
- for some people, eating meat is another form of canibalism, although it's not human eats human, but it's the same thing for them that flesh eater is counted as canibal.
it feels right

I can't think of any, but I can think of many reasons not to. First, evolutionary features of a carnivore. Herbivores and carnivores both started out as the same basic single celled organisms, until they started evolving until there where distinctions in them. Carnivores started to develop more complex brains. While herbivores developed more instinctive brains that required less energy to run. Second, death is an important part of the life cycle. In nature everything living thing dies. The only reason we are born is to reproduce, once that is done an animal has fufilled its purpose. Third, meat contains many important nutrients that we need to survive like amino acids. Fourth, people who say its cruel to an animal need to learn that pain happens in life, and humans have altered there life so it occures rarely, making it so we don't realise that pain happens in nature often. Fifth, if you say animals have a right to live than think about this, farm animals, which are about %60 of meat eaten by humans, stopped being eaten, the demand for them would go down, resulting in less animals being born which would mean less animals living. Fifth, you probably asume animals are as smart as human, but very few animals are even close to as smart as people, so the don't realize there even alive, or have a fear of death. If anyone else has anything to say post it and i'll prove you wrong. To that last post first about the level of cruelty. Very few cases do the people enjoy making animals feel pain, and like i said farm animals have inadiquite brain size to realize there in pain. And about the parisites bacteria who cares. People like you who only eat fruit have lower imune systems, and if we wern't so worrid about germs we would of had the immune system to eat it raw. And yes a dead parisite is better by far. If you think a parisite has a right to live then your pretty wrong considering most don't even have brains, an only live about 3-4 days. And you need protien from meat and the energy you the energy you get from meat is a lot more than it takes to digest it. And who cares about it having cholesteral, just don't buy fatty meat. If you stop eating meat to farmers won't make as much money, and without money the can't help raise the animals treatment. The only case I agree with are pigs in the worst conditions but im not going to stop eating meat all together because of it. Also on a lighter side what is wrong with the PETA trying to get Hamburg to change the name to Vegiburg? I don't think they ate a well rounded breakfast with meat, fruit dairy, and vegetibles. Anymore questions try eating smoked bacon.
Animal cruelty, which is at a level far beyond what most people even know. Go to http://www.goveg.com/factoryfarming.asp... for details. Also, meat makes no sense. It contains fecal matter, cholesterol, urine, blood, pus, whatever disease the animal had, growth hormones, steroids, antibiotics and all sorts of nasty stuff. Meat also contains parasites, and must be cooked to a certain temperature to kill the parasites and bacteria. Are dead parasites and bacteria better than live ones? A veggie or fruit just needs a rinse and can be eaten raw. Your body does not have to work too hard to digest whole grains, beans and veggies. It is much harder for the body to digest protein from meat, as it is too similar to human flesh. All reasons enough for me. Common sense prevails.
