Is meat really murder?? or were animals created to eat??!

Question:

Is meat really murder?? or were animals created to eat??

Answers:
Because even animals eat other animals...I guess I tend to lean towards the statement that "it's natural" and human nature to eat animals. We really don't need to eat animals because we have so many other options. Unfortunately, we are in the habit of this practice and as for myself...I love animals dearly but I also eat meat and seafood. I am torn on this issue but I guess it's always going to be available to eat and they're not going to stop killing animals on my behalf. So, I will continue to enjoy the foods I like. May as well...

to eat. people on diets eating turkey meat, steak for iron, something more than just veggies and fruits and whatever else.

If you eat vegetables you are killing plants.

And think of all the insects that die because of the preperation of them.

I eat meat because humans are omnivores. We have always been such. Even apes of the varying sorts will eat meat if they can, and chimpanzees have been caught actively group hunting for game.

It is all part of the "food chain" .... but it is up to you if you wish to eat meat or not. ....

Meat is not murder because back than like thousands of years ago the native americans knew they had to hunt meat to surrive and when adam and eve were on earth god would of probbley told them not to kill the animals and eat them but did he no so it's not really murder because animals reproduce so meat is good to eat not murder i hope my answer help you understans that meat is not murder.

I think both statements are correct. I think maybe we kill more than we really need but also think meat is made to eat.

This is an interesting question since it depends on morals. As far as The bible is concerned Animals are for the use of man but also to be cared for. Dont kill for no purpose

other than religious people Animals eat eachother all the time, some known as carnivores that eat only the meat of other living things, does anyone feel like bothering administering the death sentence to Animals for murdering eachother to eat? I guess we could have a large guiltless barbecue for rest of us

So its fine to enjoy as food, for sport or some methods of killing anmals for food become the discussion

Leviticus of the Old Testament gives very specific rules for how animals are to be slaughtered and which animals can be eaten.
The LORD said to Moses and Aaron, "Say to the Israelites: 'Of all the animals that live on land, these are the ones you may eat: You may eat any animal that has a split hoof completely divided and that chews the cud. (Lev.11:1-3).
- Clean: Sheep, cattle, goats, turkey, deer, antelope, elk... milk, cheese, ice-cream... but not meat with milk.
- Unclean: Pigs, horses, rabbits, camels, rats... don't touch their carcasses.
Still more: Our clean meat will be trimmed of fat, drained of blood and well cooked:
It shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations in all your dwellings, that you shall not eat either fat or blood. (Lev.3:17

Fish and Shellfish:
Of all the creatures living in the water of the seas and the streams, you may eat any that have fins and scales... Anything living in the water that does not have fins and scales is to be detestable to you. (Lev.11:9,12).
- Clean: All fish with fins and scales.
- Unclean: Catfish, which has no scales. Shellfish, clams, crabs, oysters, lobster... octopus, eel.

Birds:
- Clean: Chicken, turkey, duck.
- Unclean: Eagle, vulture, bat, red kite, owl, gull, hawk, hoopoe (Lev.11:13-18).

Reptiles:
- Unclean: All of them: Snakes, lizards, weasels, chameleons, geckos (Lev.11:41-45).

Insects:
- Clean: Any kind of locust, katydid, cricket or grasshopper (Lev.11:20-23).
- Unclean: Ants, grubs, flies.

My theory is: Like animals, people used to eat meat to survive. They needed to eat it. However, now that we can make fake meat and stuff, we don't need to eat meat anymore. I'm not a vegetarian yet, but I'm seriously considering it.

Murder refers to human being created in the image of God (which animals were not). However, the ideal diet for human beings is fruit, nuts, and grains. This is the original diet God gave to man before sin. After the Floor, God gave permission for man to eat meat (there was nothing else) and He added vegetables to the diet. However, that permission came with the prohibition against eating the fat and the blood. The reason for prohibiting consumption of blood relates to the Commandment not to commit murder, which is that blood represents life, which man cannot create. Therefore, he should not take life or eat what supports life. This is all contained in the Bible, and I hope the information is helpful to you.

Animals were not created. They evolved. Take your religious fervour elsewhere.

you know you're not in this forum to really ask a thing but to tease.

it's not shocking anymore nor really interesting.

why didn't you just say:

if god didn't want us to eat animals why did he make them taste like meat?

there..

there is a circle of life, all life forces depends on each other to live, humans changed the circle that's been around for millions of years, we just eat and kill everything in sight, meself included, i kill spiders and cockroachs, i shoundn't be kill them, grrrrr

yes as animals are consumers they are created with the need to eat. However they are not created for eating purposes if thats what you meant.

lol it cracks me up that they think steak is the only source of iron and that all non meat is just salad lol.

If that was the case, then why were many dinosaurs herbivores? And why are our teeth really NOT designed for eating meat? And if you want to say that they were put here to eat, then I could say that YOU were put here for ME to eat. (not threatening, just making a point) It's just not logical to be a meat eater. Just because animals are put here doesnt mean its to kill them and eat them, what the heck did they ever do to you?

This is really a matter of personal opinion and how important animals are to you. I would not necessarily say that meat is murder but their existence is not solely for meat either. This is just my personal opinion. No one can really answer this question except you so do some research and make a decision.

Would you eat a dog, cat, parrot, giraff, elephant, lion, tiger, bear, etc? So why a cow, a chicken, a pig, or a turkey? Animals are not created to eat. Horses were the original car. Dogs are used to save human life by tracking their scent in rescue missions. Cows give the gift of milk. Chickens give the gift of eggs. But selfish humans don't think thats enough-they have to kill them to satisfy their greedy appetites.

What makes meat so gross is the torture animals are put through the whole process, and that's murder to me.

Murder is unlawful killing of a human. Killing an animal is neither unlawful nor killing of a human, so it's not murder.

But, animals weren't created for us to eat, we were created to eat them, if you catch my drift.
I'm not a believer in God creating animals for us, I think they evolved, like us, and nowhere in their evolution was their any will to be eaten. On the other hand, in our evolution we evolved so that we could use their flesh as food, whether they like it or not.
