If you dont eat meat, can you eat soup that was stewed from meat?!
If you dont eat meat, can you eat soup that was stewed from meat?
as a vegetarian, can you eat a soup, just the liquid part, if it was stewed from meat?
Answers:
Heavens, no. A beef/chicken/fish broth is not vegetarian in the least.
There're plenty of vegetarian/vegan soup stocks on the market now, though, and it's trivial to make your own.
It's not a diet that merely eschews stuff that _looks_ like meat; that wouldn't make much sense at all.
Re. "i guess it depends on how strict you are" -- no, no; that wouldn't be like admitting to eating small amounts of gelatin or stuff where an animal ingredient was used in the processing; stuff that one might reasonably not know about. I've never had a beef/chicken/fish stock, but would have to assume you'd be able to recognise it as such by taste?
i guess it depends on how strict you are. if i did that i wouldn't tell too many people I was a vegetarian.
I dont think most vegetarians would, because an animal still died for that.
No, it requires killing the animal to get it...
No..the blood and small amounts of the meat would still get into the broth .. so it would be like drinking blood..sounds gross, but that is how I would see it..
Some vegetarians I know are flexible... they don't eat chunks of meat but they aren't bothered by "peripheral" meat products. It's all a matter of personal preference.
No, vegetarians typically do not eat meat stock.
No,that would be like eating lard.
Like with chicken stock in it?
If thats what you mean. I personally do not eat anything with chicken stock, but I'm sure some vegetarians do and still call themself one. Anything that comes from the death of an animal I will not eat, so like gelitin and chicken stock.
You can. It's possible. But it would be neither vegetarian nor vegan.
its still a dead animal, only in liquid form. Don't kid yourself
Once again..NO. Vegetarians do not eat anything that came from the flesh of an animal. Meat broth is the same as meat.
aren't you that anti-vegetarian?
i don't eat anything that have anything to do with meat
so i can't eat a pepporziney pizza if i pick off the pepporzione
and i can't eat just the bone of the fish, if i pick off the flesh
and i can't eat the liquid part of the soup, and you're the smartest person in the world
