The cacao bean is a bean, it's a veggie.
try candy
Never mind,just eat 5 a day.
That time of the month, eh?
It comes from a cocoa bean, so I guess it could be called a vegetable. I call it dessert!
The actual cacao bean is a vegetable, but we add so much sugar and fat to it before eating it that it would be classified as a sweet.
Are you a fruit or a veggie?
vegetable from a coca bean
In it's pure form, chocolate can be construed as a vegetable because it is derived from the coca bean. However, because chocolate is an additive which contributes to meat products, vegans read the ingredients of everything you consider for purchase. It is not all a fruit, but has been known to add flavor to fruits such as chocolate banana's and strawberries and still allowed in strict vegan diets.
Cacao bean (fruit):
Um, chocolate is actually a type of food. But, cocoa beans which makes chocolate is a fruit. The cocoa bean is the seed of the cacao tree (Theobroma cacao), a tropical plant indigenous to the equatorial regions of the Americas.
A chocolate bean is neither fruit or vegetable. It is considered a nut because it is one seed with a hard shell.
VEGETABLE----------chocolate derived from the cacao beans and beans=vegetable-----chocolate contains sugar and sugar comes from sugar cane or beets and beets=vegetable
It is actually a seed of a fruit. I have cacoa trees growing in my yard (Hawaii). The fruit is longish and orangey/yellow, hard on the outside like a squash. (In fact it resembles a squash a little). The outer part is not eaten. Inside is a large cluster of dark shiny seeds, encased in a white gelatinous substance--- Looks really pretty gross, actually.
The white stuff tastes good, though --sweet and slippery-- and kids like to suck it off the very hard seeds.
Chocolate makers allow the white stuff to ferment a bit, then dry the seeds in the sun(calling them "beans", although of course they are not) and eventually cleaning them and toasting them and grinding them into "cocoa"
This website has pictures, as well as describing how it is processed, if you are interested.

It's a Vegetable it grows above the ground.
chocolate is a man made product, naturally it comes from the cocoa bean which i would class as a pod, like a vegetable

Its processed. So its on the top part of the food chain. You know not all non meat is fruits or vegetables, duh. Yes the cacao bean is a "bean" but chocolate is quite processed so its not.
