Why u don't eat meat?!

Question:

Why u don't eat meat?

Answers:
I'm not a Vegitarian, but my parents are. I know tht my dad is because he grew up on a farm and his parents would always make him kill chickens and tear off their feathers and stuff. He h8ted it. Now whenever he eats meat, he is remembers the poor chickens....lol tht sounds kinda dumb but its true.

because i think it is gross

common sense. Meat is full of parasites, blood, pus, urine. feces, cholesterol, fat, growth hormones, pesticide (from the grain the animals eat) steroids, antibiotics and other stuff. Meat has to be cooked to a certain temperature to kill bacteria and parasites. Does it make sense to still eat the bacteria and parasites, just because they are dead? I get all the protein and nutrition I need from a plant and grain based diet, without taking in all of the unhealthy stuff in meat. Go to meetyourmeat.com if you want the real truth about how cruely animals are treated-its shocking. It makes no sense to me that something should have to die in order for me to feed my face

There are many reasons.
1. Meat increases your chances of some cancers and heart disease.
2. It's rotting flesh. The moment an animal is slaughtered, the flesh starts to decompose. That's pretty gross if you think about it.
3. Killing for food is not necessary and the living conditions of these animals that end up on your plate are horrible.

Bcoz our stomach is not a gravyard. Killing lives of living being for eating is the most horrible act. Human Gi system is not made for non veg.Health wise & medically it is proved that veg.Diet is best for human being. That why we dont eat meat.

i eat meat. They said that if you dont eat meat, you will get more fat than you are now. It your health to eat meat. But sometime i dont eat meat because for my church. But you should remenber to eat meat or you know what happens, right?

People don't eat meat because of their psychological issues.

But they unconsciously mask those reasons with a veneer of plausibility, usually health reasons and concern for animal welfare.

Usually the people who tout the so called "dangers" of meat are either ignorant of food and nutrition science or have very misguided ideas about food.

It's a personal choice that a person makes. Meat eaten in moderation can be good for you because it contains proteins that are needed for muscle growth . Proteins burn fat and help you to lose weight if you're not over- indulging. It's a personal choice just like whether or not to go to church.

They don't waste anything on the animals in slaughter houses and besides that the animals have heart just like we do.

I don not eat meat after reading a artical about the conditions of some meat packing places. I also read that alot of the U.S land is going to farmers for animals. I would rather see that land for something better(not to be developed). I also hear that from not eating meat you have a less likely of a chance to get some forms of illness or cancers.

Its difficult to eat meat after knowing that the poor creature was tortured maimed and killed before it reached my plate. That I was responsible for the death of one more of God's creations, someone's mother, father or child...

b/c its digusting!!!! (i watched supersize me)

who said i didnt eat meat?

because i think it is shameful and disgusting the way humans just slaughter animals left and right to fill their bottomless stomachs. i love animals..

Anyone who truly loves animals wouldn't eat them. Most people wouldn't kill their cat because it tastes good, but they're fine with eating other creatures - as long as they didn't know them!

Also haven't you noticed all the famine in the world? 1 in 3 children don't have enough to eat. We have enough food in the world, the problem is we don't distribute it equally. In other words, here we are stuffing our faces with rich food while innocent children starve!

By purchasing meat, you are directly responsible for this injustice.

You can choose between a few dead cows or a whole field full of vegetarian food that could feed 10 times more people.

I LOVE meat and I don't care what the psycho vegetarians say!

I do eat meat; there are many benefits to a diet containing meat. Many vegetarians claim that meat is unhealthy. This is a blatant fallacy.
It is well established that eating meat improves the quality of nutrition, strengthens the immune system, promotes normal growth and development, is beneficial for day-to-day health, energy and well-being, and helps ensure optimal learning and academic performance.
A long term study found that children who eat more meat are less likely to have deficiencies than those who eat little or no meat. Kids who don’t eat meat ― and especially if they restrict other foods, as many girls are doing ― are more likely to feel tired, apathetic, unable to concentrate, are sick more often, more frequently depressed, and are the most likely to be malnourished and have stunted growth. Meat and other animal-source foods are the building blocks of healthy growth that have made America’s and Europe's youngsters the tallest, strongest and healthiest in the world.
Meat is an important source of quality nutrients, heme iron, protein, zinc and B-complex vitamins. It provides high-quality protein important for kids’ healthy growth and development.
The iron in meat (heme iron) is of high quality and well absorbed by the body, unlike nonheme iron from plants which is not well absorbed. More than 90 percent of iron consumed may be wasted when taken without some heme iron from animal sources. Substances found to inhibit nonheme iron absorption include phytates in cereals, nuts and legumes, and polyphenolics in vegetables. Symptoms of iron deficiency include fatigue, headache, irritability and decreased work performance. For young children, it can lead to impairment in general intelligence, language, motor performance and school readiness. Girls especially need iron after puberty due to blood losses, or if pregnant. Yet studies show 75 percent of teenage girls get less iron than recommended.
Meat, poultry and eggs are also good sources of absorbable zinc, a trace mineral vital for strengthening the immune system and normal growth. Deficiencies link to decreased attention, poorer problem solving and short-term memory, weakened immune system, and the inability to fight infection. While nuts and legumes contain zinc, plant fibre contains phytates that bind it into a nonabsorbable compound.
Found almost exclusively in animal products, Vitamin B12 is necessary for forming new cells. A deficiency can cause anaemia and permanent nerve damage and paralysis. The Vitimin B12 in plants isn't even bioavailable, meaning our body can't use it.
Why not buy food supplements to replace missing vitamins and minerals? Some people believe they can fill those gaps with pills, but they may be fooling themselves. Research consistently shows that real foods in a balanced diet are far superior to trying to make up deficiencies with supplements.

because I care about my body
