If you are a vegen or a veggietain can you eat jello?!

Question:

If you are a vegen or a veggietain can you eat jello?

because jello is made of collagen in cow and pig bones and connective tissues.

Answers:
Vegetarians eat no animals or slaughter byproducts.
Gelatin (jello) is a slaughter byproduct because the animal must be killed in order to get it.

Some vegetarians do eat it because they don't know better.
If you wont kill an animal to eat its flesh, you probably wont kill an animal to eat its bones and skin.
:)

"People who don’t eat red meat but do eat chicken or fish are making a very important first step, but they aren’t vegetarians. We usually call such people meat-reducers."

Gross!!! How could anyone eat that, vegen or not?? That's gross. I wonder who though of that.

i don't think vegans eat jello, but i think some vegetarians do. it depends how strict you are about it.

yes... i think you can. only because your not eating MEAT it's self but i am not sure.It really depends on how strict you are.

i'm a vegeterian n i eat it..i dont c nuthin wrong with it..i find it good

no you cannot eat jello truthfully

Vegan, no. Vegetarian would depend on what type of Vegetarian they are, ie. ovo-lacto, Pesco/polo vegetarian, etc.

If you are veggie then yes, if you are vegan then no.

They do make alternatives to gelatin that are not made of animal by products.
In the UK most of the gelatin is not from any animal by products.

You would be surprised at the list of things that contain some type of animal by product in them.

You mean Jello like the red one...?
Ewwww... I didn't know that.

A vegetarian doesn't eat meat so I would guess it would be dependent on the person. A vegan takes it one step further and won't eat anything that comes from an animal. Thant means they won't drink milk or milk products, eggs, etc. So I would say that a vegan would definitely not eat Jello. I won't eat Jello anymore when I found out what it was made from. It made it so much harder to eat for me.

Doesnt Jello have bone marrow in it?
and that's from animals?

or something like that, who knows.

Actually, Jello is made from grounded up horse hooves, if that helps.

No..... But you can eat steak because cows eat grass and that's what makes them grow, so cows are just an extention of plants. Not only that, if God didn't want you to eat them he would have made them out of something that tastes so good!

Vegans dont eat it because it contains parts of animals, vegans dont eat anything which has anything to do with animals, the stricter ones dont even have milk of cheese, but vegetarians can, they just dont eat meat, and jello isnt meat.

YES! of course you can eat Jello. All it is is sugar and water and it goes into the fridge! LOL this is the funniest thing i have ever seen on here!

You have to eat meat women!!!! its a necessary food for survival. i was just lookin to see what veteranians ask.

no vegetarians, even non strict ones can eat it, its made of boiled bones from cows and stuff. Thats not vegetarian

No. You can buy veggie 'jell' though. Some ' jelly ' sweets do not contain gelatine and are made with either corn syrup or fruit pectin. If you are British go to www.aquarterof.com they have a large selection of gelatine free sweets and they are delivered to your door.

of course not-its still a dead animal. Use vegetarian sources for gelatine like stuff, agar agar, or carageenan

I'm vegan. I "can" eat gelitain as in I'm physically capable of taking a bite of gelitain, or jelly bean or marshmallow, sticking it into my mouth, chewing and repeating as desired. However, I choose not to, because of what's in it. (Besides, the ground up animal leftovers, there are things like artificial flavoring and coloring, high fructose corn syrup and other chemicals and fake stuff.)

As for "needing" meat for survival. Nope. I've not had a bite of meat for over two years and I'm surviving very well. I'm healthy. I think if one seriously and literally needed meat for survival, then my baby, with whom I've been pregnant for four months would have miscarried by now. Speaking of which, it's time to start dinner. (Brown rice, steamed veggies, tofu and a glass of soy milk. All natural, low fat, high protein and yummy.)

I was turned off on gelatain long before I became a vegetarian. Fourtunately, I learned where my meat and meat products came from as well.

NO

and jello is made of dead horse and cow hooves ground up

Veg*ns do not eat dead animals. Jello is made from the hooves and bones of dead animals.

No question. Of course not.
