Can vegetarians go on deer or duck hunting trips?
I was wondering if they were good hunters...
Answers:
A vegetarian refrains from eating meat for what they consider health reasons while a vegan does not eat meat for moral, social, or religious reasons. In either instance, it is a case of one choosing not to eat meat with no definition of whether or not one chooses to harvest meat for good use by others. I would not eat tofu for taste reasons, but would have no reservations in providing it for those with no taste buds to eat.
I am an avid hunter and fisherman with a Native American's philosophy. The ancient concept of "hunter-gatherer in harmony with nature" has always been based on taking only what is needed, using what is taken, and giving back what one has taken by replanting crops and maintaining quality wildlife habitat to ensure future harvests. In the eyes of a true naturalist, harvesting that which is used for food, clothing, and/or shelter while ensuring replentishment pays homage to the harvest and that which provided it. On the other hand, the greatest sin against nature is the "slash and burn" concept that forever kills crops and wildlife that could continue to thrive and replentish the earth in a particular area - and replace it with a new housing development or Walmart parking lot.
So, whether one chooses not to eat meat, grain, veggies, tofu, or whatever, a true naturalist sees no sin in being part of a harvest (and replentishment effort) when it provides someone with food and an enjoyment of the harvest.
That too me seems a little odd....aren't most vegetarians, vegetarian because they feel like it is cruel to kill animals?
Too me it would contridicting yourself....also I don't like the killing of animals for the sport of it. I am not a vegatarian and I feel that animals should only be killed for food consumption.
Yes they can. Vegans cannot.
As long as they don't eat their kill. : )
yes, but only if they are made out of tofu
They can. But would they want to? And would they be any good?
to comment on the first ladies answer most hunters consume the animals they kill
That's a weird question. If Vegetarians do not kill animals for food then y would they kill them for fun. R u sure ur a really vegetarians or someone who doesn't count chicken as meat.
99.9% of omnivores dont hunt either.
Vegetarians can do whatever they want.
Deer are vegetarians, so I think they vegetarian hunters would not want to hunt them..but those fish-eating duckies better watch out.
Vegetarians can not possibly know what they are missing... sometimes a nice young tender filet is my happy meal.... ;-)
I "can" if I want to, but I dont want to. Why kill beautiful creatures just to stuff your face, when there are so many great ways to eat that don't involve dead animals. The only way I would "hunt" is with a camera
I would think if you are a vegetarian you would be against shooting cute little animals. Poor Bambi
Yeah, sure, you were wondering if vegetarians are good hunters! Of course!
they don't also Bambi would die a horrible death if you let him live his teeth would drop out he'd starve to death that worse then a small bump to the neck thats all they feel so its not as bad as you think when you get into it
Could they? Yes. Would they want to? I sure as hell hope not.
Why would they want to.....I mean they don't eat meat/poultry/fish so why would they want to kill it? Think about it.
It's entirely up to you.
I mean you probably turned into a vegeterian because you pitty animals, so you don't eat them, you just kill them. That's logical!
