Your opinion on being a vegetarian?!
Your opinion on being a vegetarian?
I respect all beliefs of being a vegetarian. But personally, I am not. I really want to know why other people made the choice of not eating meat.
Answers:
For Health Reasons: Studies have shown that vegetarians have less incidence of heart disease and cancer. My wife and I have been vegetarians for over a year and never get sick with colds, etc like we did before. We also have lost alot of weight and feel healthier.
Global Warming Reduction: Studies have shown how much oil we use to grow crops to feed cattle. Also how much pesticides we use to grow animal feed.
Animal Welfare: It is humane if you have ever seen how animals are slaughtered and processed. Chickens are particularly not handled well.

I think that animals taste delicious! Mmmmm!
they probably don't like the idea of eating animals or killing animals for food.
It's a thing of preferrence. However, most people knowledgeable in this area, after a period of about twenty or more years of analyses/studies, have had to accede to the fact the body can't fully get by without certain concentrated proteins ( meats ) in judicious amounts.
Im a vegitarian because
I dont particularly love the taste of meat
so its an easy way for me to cut out some fats and calories. I wish i could say its for the animals...but i do eat fish, so that would make me contradictory i guess.
you know it sometimes has to do with religion or they just dont like meat i wouldnt be able to tell u honey im not a vegeterian
I am not in love with meat, and I don't die for it.
I cook great food with vegetable foods that may give same type of vitamins. But I think that it is good to have meat, for the sake of pure healthy bood. The end of the day, we are human beings.
I don't like red meat very much, but i do respect if others do.
I had a friend once, she was vegetarian for years, and she had so much weakness that she ended up nervous and unhealthy. Now she eats more meat than me!
Three reasons,
1. Health
2. Moral/Emotional
3. Ecological
People may believe it's much healthier not to eat animal products. They may be active in animal rights and feel it is wrong to kill animals for food. They may also feel it is bad for the ecosystem of the planet to raise animals for food, since grazing destroys natural ecosystems at a great rate. Usually it's some combination of all three reasons.
I know that this won't answer your question but I could never become a vegetarian. I love meat way too much. I guess people just don't like the fact that the animals are slautered, tortured, and killed. But the way i see it is that animals are here for our survival and as long as i don't have to kill them i'll eat meat.
more steak for me...but when they get sick b/c of a poor diet, they shouldnt complain....charge them higher health care premiums like we should for smokers, motorcycle riders without helmets....who else?? mmmmmmmm......lemme see..........how about.........
simi veg that,s what i am i only eat chicken and fish i lose 5 pounds a month and often keep it off it,s not because of animals it,s jest i don,t what to get too fat that,s all.
I love meat but some people think they are fat, some are athletic, some it's against there religion, and some just adore veggies. I think a vegetarian is someone who likes to be healthy or it's against there religion to eat meat. It all depends on the type of person that you are.
i have several friends who are vegetarians for a couple of reasons:
1. health/weight reasons. they cut the fat and get their protein from nuts and beans.
2. cruelty to animals. they felt it was unfair to kill innocent animals. as well as the conditions livestock are raised and killed in. they went veg as protest/support for the cows raised in 3x5 stalls-never allowed to roam or be around other animals.
I think once you read about the conditions of the farming in this country it could make anyone want to become a vegetarian.
Don't get me wrong, I love meat and animals products but the treatment of the animals gets to me.
I think that all God's creatures should live and die with dignity.
I have been a veggie for almost 15 years. I became one when farmers were shoving their animals full of steriods to make them bigger. I didn't want to eat that so I cut meat out of my diet. Since then, the government has put stricter laws on steriod use in animals. I could start eating meat again, but I have not eaten it for so long that my body rejects it and I get very ill. Now it is just easier to stay away from it. Travelling is a bit of a challenge sometimes, though.
I dont eat meat, i do eat fish.
I dont like to say as i do eat fish, but fish get much better lives in the sea, and i dont eat fish often...its cos ive only just gone vegy,
anyway...lets see
the though of eating a dead body
the taste of blood!
i dont think my soul should digest any more souls...i so should give up fish. Im def gona cut down.
The way they are treated have you see the pics???
The way they are kept.
The way humans think they are better than animals
human body not designed to eat meat (yeh we can digest it, but we can digest cardboard! and our teeth arent designed to)
by the way, im not having a go, im just telling you my opinion. You wanted to know! I hope o have not offended you or any other meat eaters out there, i respect all pof your decisions, it is just that i personally cannot deal with these things. I know it is nature to eat other animals, but if we can survive without it then whats the point?
pointless killling.
well hope that gave you somehting to think about!!!
Because I hate the way animals are painfully explotied by the industry.
There are so many examples, but I'm sure other people will give you enough web links to videos and articles.
the reason people become vegetarians is b/c they respect their earth, want to keep their body healthy, don't want to be fat
When I realized how unsanitary meat is, and learned how cruely animals are treated, I gave it up completely. Meat had the growth hormones, steroids, and antibiotics given to animals, and also contains parasites, cholesterol, bacteria, blood, pus, purines, urine, and all sorts of other nasty stuff. It has to be cooked to a certain temperature to kill off the parasites and bacteria-makes no more sense to eat dead bacteria than alive, or parasites. Its just plain nasty
There are some who make this choice because of religious or political reasons. Others like me, have made the choice to be vegan for nutritional reasons.
I did not wake up one day and just decide that eating a plant based diet seemed like a good idea. I'm a chef and highly interested in food and how it relates to health and disease.
Over the course of 12 years or so, my family and I have gradually come to the place of being vegan.
There is a wealth of sound medical research that proves a diet based on whole plants and not animals (meat and dairy) is the best way to stay energetic, slim, and avoid diseases of affluence.
We do not consume large amounts of added fats (deep fried foods or lots of foods cooked in oils) or processed foods (fake meats and other prepared vegetarian foods). This means we are getting a balanced and nutritious diet that has as much protein and other nutrients to keep the body fully functioning.
It really is a shame that our economy relies so heavily on certain industries that much effort has been made (and has been successful) to make us believe we cannot exist without eating meat. Take a look at other developed countries whose diet only consists of about 3% animal protein compared to the 35%-50% animal protein consumed in the US. You'll find their disease rates are much lower.
I hope this helps you find some of the understanding you're looking for.
My mother is a vegetarian so I grew up not eating meat. When I met my husband he was determined to have me eat meat. I have eaten meat before out of curiosity but I just don't like the taste. I never really thought in depth about the whole killing of the animals until the past few years. Once I did think about how if I'm eating a hamburger that I'm technically eating someone's kid ( a cow's kid of course, but it's a living thing nonetheless) I vowed never to eat meat or eggs again.
When one is raised up on something it is hard getting use to eating a different way no matter what. Being and having tried the vegetarian way I do not feel full.
Well for me i dont like the idear of killing a liveing thing for food. the animals suffer so much ive seen clips of people buchering the animals alive kicking them and even hitting them with iron poles sorry but i dont think that any liveing thing should be treated that way. look up some websites on the net and your feel the same
because i hated the taste and texture of meat at a young age, and haven't eaten meat since because i would get physically ill if i tried to eat it again.
plus, i sometimes think it's healthier if you are a vegetarian (assuming you do it right and don't just eat junk food)
I am a vegetarian because I am really happy to be one. I am not a vegetarian who tries to convince others to do so, even if I believe in respect to all living beings. But to be honest I think no one should do something if they do not want to or will suffer by it. I do it because I never wanted to eat it when I was a child and went veggie since early teens. It has been 10 years now. The only thing I can advice to a person who eats meat is that every time you eat meat, you do it responsibly. Thanking the animal for its sacrifice of feeding you, never trow meat away, because that would be as if the animal died for nothing and that I do feel is very sad. The important thing is respect one another, no meat eaters or grass eaters, just trying to be humans who live ethically without separatism and attacking one another because they think their believe is the right one. That's when all goes wrong. So as a conclusion, I am happy with my choice and I hope you are happy with yours.
