If both vegetables and animals have brains and thoughts and stuff...?!
If both vegetables and animals have brains and thoughts and stuff...?
if both vegetables and animals have brains and thoughts and stuff and can feel pain and emotions and the only difference is a vegetable can't move on its own why is it okay to eat a vegetable and not like a pig?? i mean if a man has a soul then a pig has a soul than a flower has a soul...
Answers:
it takes less effort to grow fruits from a tree, it just makes a new batch of fruit for free every year
a pig would problly need assistance to give birth, and need to get shots, needs to be fed and cleaned daily, it's like alot of work to get pig meat is what i'm trying to say.
the end
the point is that flowers dont have souls
plants do not have brains or consciounsness, thoughts or emotions. they might have a way of "sensing" damage to repair and regrow, but they do not feel pain, and they certainly do not have a soul.
It all depends on scientific view point, intelligence is defined normally by something having a brain to start with. Plants don't think, or feel emotion, they have a different more passive kind of intelligence. They are intelligent or else they wouldn't have evolved to become effective at surviving. Look at the venus fly trap, at one point it must have sat and thought about how it was gonna evolve, random evolution couldn't result in something so effective...
Passive intelligence is usually seen as acceptable to eat, but then another question is raised, do we actually have souls ourselves?
what is this nonsense you talking about?
I asked a question about this statement. Can you please tell me where you are hearing this?
To answer your question, no plants don't have brains and cannot feel pain. It is okay to eat a vegetable, it's perfectly humane.
hmmm I grow and cook veggies all the time, and have yet to find a brain, central nervous system, heart, or blood. Are you in first grade? You mommy is calling you
Is this a hypothetical question or an incorrect statement with opinions drawn from it?
If this is a hypothetical question, it's a meaningless one. There is no chance of this happening in our lifetimes. It's just another "trick" to try and "trap" vegetarians into looking immoral and hypocritical.
If this "vegetables and animals have brains..." is a statement, it is a false one. Therefore any opinions drawn from it would most likely incorrect.
Plants do not have brains
Plants do not have thoughts
Plants cannot feel pain
Plants cannot feel emotions
How do you know that a man has a soul?
How do you know that a pig has a soul?
Why would you think that flowers have a soul?
Plants *do* react to stimuli. All living things do - it's a part of life. However, reaction to stimuli DOES NOT make something sentient and does not create a nervous system.
Captain - Intelligence does not preclude or include the ability to evolve. Plants DO NOT have intelligence. lol. Really, it's basic biology or botany.
Plants don't have brains and they can't feel pain or fear!
Choose the path of least suffering. Look into the environmental impact of factory farming.
