the plant estrogen found in most soy products can cause cancer in all estrogen sensitive tissue, (breast, thyroid, ovaries)
in Asia most of your soy products are fermented which neutralizes the hormones found, where as most of your soy products in the western world do not include fermentation in the high level of processing required to make the soy been taste good to most people
gives me wicked gas peeew!
Actually, vegetarians tend to have a longer life span.
As for soy, in an unprocessed state, there is nothing about it that should cause cancer, however, a lot of products that contain soy are highly processed to the point where they become unhealthy, and those are the foods you should stay away from.
I don't believe that soy is bad for you simply because they eat loads of it in China. Every person eats on average three different forms of daily. Japanese eat it even more. Here in Taiwan, most people drink homemade soy milk for breakfast every day. Between those three countries, that is 20% of the world's population that eats some form of soy every day, and they don't have more widespread health problems than Western countries do.
I think that the soy products are of a higher quality in Western countries becuase you have the option of buying organic. Soy can be a hard crop to grow an in China they use some nasty pestecides, yet they don't have higher cancer rates than Westeners (with the exception of lung cancer.)
The founder of the vegan society (vegan since the age of 14) died recently at 96 years of age.
Hope that answers your question :}
Only if you have been diagnosed with an estrogen dependent breast cancer. They don't know for sure if the phyto (plant) estrogens in soy can feed these types of tumors or not.
Eating too much of everything is likely bad. However, people who eat too much meat can get heart disease, which is the number 1 cause of death in the US. Vegetarian diets have far less cholesterol and fat. Most studies I've read about indicated vegetarian diets result in less heart disease.
What you've posted (poster below), the link to "soy online service" is like anything on the internet, it can be put up by anyone and say anything they want. Medical journals such as JAMA (Journal of the American Medical Association) is where real medical studies of the western world are published.
Anyone can make a website and say anything they want, doesn't mean it's all fact. Just like PETA puts up a www.milksucks.com site. Does it mean everything there is all completely truth? If you believe everything you read on the internet then well...
