Is Vegetarianism A Healthier Way Of Life?!
Is Vegetarianism A Healthier Way Of Life?
Im searching the web for research on vegetarianism. Would you happen to know of any websites? Possibly websites that show both sided opinions on it. "Is Vegetarianism A Healthier Way Of Life?"
Thanks

I didn't find myself to feel any healthier just because I turned vegetarian. Although cutting meat out of your diet has some long term benefits, such as a decreased chance of colon cancer, there are still hoards of junk food out there that are suitable for veggies. Also, milk, cheese and eggs can be bad for you.
I have recently gone the extra step and turned vegan, and overall I find myself to be slimmer and happier, with clearer skin as well as fewer mood swings. There are far fewer unhealthy options for vegans and therefore it takes a lot of temptation out of your way.
I don't know of any websites that give both sides of the argument but I find both peta and viva very informative.
There is also this article which I found very useful. It's not actually about being vegan but gives a lot of info about a healthy diet anyway. It's quite long but worth it.

Sorry, I don't have a website but will share my personal experience with you. I was raised on meat, and never had any reason to question it until I became crippled with lupus, arthritis, and other chronic health issues. After 12 agonizing years, I decided to try to improve my health through a healthy organic diet. After much trial and error, and LOADS of research, I started to suspect allergies to meat and other foods. When I eliminated meat, and some other things from my diet-I healed completely! I was only expecting an improvement. I cheated a couple of times, and each time I ate meat, the crippling pain came back. I am now perfectly healthy and active, perfect weight, glowing skin, long thick naturally red hair, strong healthy nails-good energy and stamina-I enjoyed NONE of these things while eating meat. I do see why people eat it=they are unaware of the true facts about how unsanitary meat is and how cruel the animal industry is-I was certainly blissfully ignorant to it. I wish some one had enlightened me sooner-its would have meant less time in a wheelchair and hand braces, during my young daughters infant and toddler years. Good luck on your research
Although vegetarianism is a healthier way of life, you still have to make sure you're eating the right things in order for it to be healthy. I used to be a full out vegetarian, but I started eating chicken and turkey again because I was not getting enough protein. If you do decide to be a vegetarian, I would suggest that you start slowly. Cut certain meats out little by little until you feel comfortable not eating meat at all. You can also try eating chicken and meat substitutes like boca meat or morningstar farms products, they're pretty good. Also make sure that you don't eat too many carbs, you'll gain weight.
if you have hereditary history of heart disease im sure it will help, but my grandpaw and grandmaw consumes beacon and burgers and they are in there late 80s, so it all depends on your genes and health history, in my opinion vegans miss out on a broad range of nutrients, on my other side of the family we do have heart disease and other conditions related to high cholesterol
