Vegitarians?!

Question:

Vegitarians?

What are the positive aspects of bein a vegitarian? and the negative things as well?

Answers:
You are kinder to the environment hasn't been mentioned yet!
You age slower! I became a safer driver (in part) because I got tired of cops thinking I had a fake drivers license (I look much younger than my calendar age).
You live longer and healthier than the meat eaters (been covered but...)

Negatives are all the guff meat eaters will dish at you (like this section of answers and some of the twits that answered this question).

The *biggie* to me is that once you get old enough you have to deal with the illnesses and deaths of friends/family that are meat eaters (I've had to deal with that one *WAY* too much!)!

Vegetarians do not eat fish. A fish eater is a Piscivore. Spread the correct word!

the Positives::::: There will always be one less animal to be killed... you eat healthier...... and if you want 2 become one, really think about it 1st.

positive.. save animal and weight loss form eating less fat which can cause blood clots and heart disses

negative. lack of protein can cause iron loss and entropy to you mussels which makes you servilely weak and if you don't drink milk ether then bone deterioration too which will cause you to have arthritis if not worst

I don't have any negative feelings about being a vegetarian, I don't miss meat at all. I actually feel a lot better when I am a totally raw vegan, so much energy and vitality. However that is pretty hard to maintain because your body goes through a withdrawal for cooked food. Also if you are a vegan you need to take some sort of B12 supplement, which vegetarians don't need to...

Positive:
Nicer skin, nicer hair, More energy, healthier lifestyle, Not supporting the cruel dairy and meat industry, weight control, Having a lower risk of heart disease, having a lower risk of all the major cancers. There are more things that I can't think of right now, but I'm sure the other answerer's will tell you.
Negative:
You'll have to do your research first (which isn't necessarily a bad thing, learning is fun) You can't just stop eating meat, you have to substitute the things you are not getting from meat anymore. Taking vitamins (also not really a bad thing) by vitamins I mean a Vitamin B12 supplement, that's pretty much all that you will need. The only real bad thing is I guess you fart more...gross I know but that's life. lol.

i only no the negative
meat tastes to good to give up and it gives you iron and protine...
i mean reall does anyone wanna give up a good steak, cheesebuger or chicken salad??
coz i sure as hell dont

Quick answer in regards to the positive aspects: meat production is THE major contributor to global warming, says the UN. It's also a cause of world hunger. Do you know that people in third world countries starve next to fields of grain meant to be exported to the west for livestock? (Just check out my sources for more info.) Go veggie and save lives--animal and human.

Negative things? Having to listen to people like random_chick69 mouth off. :p

Positive is that nobody will be killed for you, your skin will become clearer, you don't get as many satured fats and you will just feel better (at least I do). Bad aspects are that it might be tough to get all the nutrition you need like b-vitamines but there are lots of vegetables with the nutrition you need. I loved the book "Becoming a vegetarian" by three nutritionists. Read and do what you feed confortable with.

I became very healthy as I became a vegetarian.
The only negative thing I can think of is meat eaters putting down us vegetarians! They want to think they are healthier but they aren't and inwardly they know it but their mind doesn't want to recognize the fact that U are what U eat
meat is death if U eat meat U eat death.. Do U want to be death?

positive~~ u wont be responsible 4 killing inocent animals
negative~~ no hotdogs or hamburgers

There are tons of positives vs the negatives! Especially in todays day and age!

If you do decide to become a vegetarian - you will benifiet by not consuming unnecessary preservatives or other such "toxins" ect...,hormones, chemicals and others. It will help lower your cholestrol and also improve your digestive system. If done right it's a natural weightloss program as well - just make sure you are not substituing alot of cheese for your "meat"! You will decrease your chance of kidney disease, liver disease and obesity.

I can't really think of any negative things - but you just have to make sure you are eating a well balanced vegetarian diet - without meat you are missing out on some essential vitamins and minerals (Vitamin B and iron, protien) but with todays excellent "meatless" products your chances of receiving all of the necessary nutrients are greatly increased. A majoritiy of vegetarians and vegans take a multi vitamin.

positive.. definite change in lifestyle, i eat healthier and i am able to eat things such as...well GREENS and i find myself consuming more fruit, nuts, whole grains, etc.

Negatives: It feels like we are the minority group, and it makes me a little uncomfortable when people, even my own Family are making remarks about it. If you don;t have people backing you up it is a little hard, but i used that, and made me want to prove them all wrong.

Vegetarians get a bad rap sometimes, and it has opened my eyes more. Sure, God gave us teeth the eat meat. Well, he gave us a minds too, we should use it more often, and let other ideas, such as choosing what you want eat up the person, and have people around them, simply accept it!

the positive aspects is up to individual and the negative thing is u will find it a bit troublesome to get along with non-vegetarian during any outing.

Positive - I lost weight, have more energy and feel better in general.

Negative - Living in a small community makes it hard to eat out. I mean if I lived in say, Seattle, there are quite a few vegetarian and vegan restaurants, but not in my town. So when friends ask me out for dinner I usually don't want to go because I know the problems I will have finding something to eat. But just think of how much money I save! ;o)

Positive Veggies are going up in price. So the commodity brokers are making a lot of cash. Negative another uneaten species went on the endangered list.

POsitives- more dietary fiber in you diet
Naegatives- meat eaters hasling you about trying some meat and also having a hard time getting enough protein in my diet
