Is life better without meat?!

Question:

Is life better without meat?

I absolutely HATE what they do to the animals just to get them to our plates. I just want to kno what's life like without meat in your life. Any upsides and downsides. Everything :]
Thanks.

Answers:
Hitler was not a vegetarian, he didn't eat meat because his health wouldn't let him. But it was not a philosophical choice for him. He would often go back to eating pieces of meat, just to feel immense pain again in his abdomen. Gary C. drop that argument.

You're beginning to question your cultural beliefs. A wonderful step. You will see through much of the folktales and be able to live a freer life, with more liberty.

As a male, you will experience stigma from meat-eaters, but they are closed to the experience of the self. Act for yourself, and do not fear the ideas and ramblings of others.

I hope I never know

It is a whole new outlook on everything! Not only does it change your eating habit, it changes you as a person. It feels great!

well, it could be better for you because of what you hate they do to cows and chickens and lambs and fish. So, eating no meat would make you feel better.

cons-
hard to follow
not as much options at fast food joints
harder to find protien

pros
there are other sources of protien- tofu, soy burgers, peanut butter, peanuts, beans, milk, eggs, cheese, ice cream
If you eat lots of veggies and fruits and do this right then it will be healthy

No, but meat is better without life.

Hell no I didn't work my way to the top of food chain to be a bottom feeder.

No, meat is essential to any balanced diet. If you have problems with the way animals are killed buy free-range organic or free-range grass fed. Meat is one of the tastiest thing out there. As a chef I am amazed at how people can take meat out of there diet

well meat tastes good, God put them on earth so we can eat, ")

~God Bless

Without question the life is better for the animal.

If you're just giving up meat, it's very easy. Almost every restaurant has vegetarian options.

There's also tons of fake meat products out there if you miss anything.

Start trying out different kinds of beans. Everyone will talk about soy, but that's just the one which happens to be most commonly processed, other beans are great too.

My fiance used to be vegetarian, but since has moved back to eating fish and chicken. So, that pretty much makes me a fish/chicken eater too. I still crave a nice steak, or kielbasa and saurkraut, but found that my cravings are fewer and far between.

I have noticed that I have a bit more energy (most likely due to eating more vegetables) and actually have lost a little weight.

Cooking was a bit of a challenge, since most of the dishes I knew how to make were either beef or pork based. But there are plenty of tasty recipes and alternatives.

I'll never be able to give up all meat, but there are certainly some benefits to cutting back on the volume of meat consumed.

I feel better about myself, and can live my life guilt free by avoiding meat.

I don't think so, because our bodies as human beings depend heavily on it in several things.
and about killing animals, I partially agree with you.
however technology is offering an alternative in the near future. which is "In vitro meat"
In vitro meat, also known as laboratory-grown meat, is animal flesh that has never been part of a complete, living animal. As of May 2003, some scientists are experimentally growing in vitro meat in laboratories, but no meat has been produced yet for public consumption.

No. I have tried and you loose a lot of energy, you are always hungry, and you dont get enough protein. Its especially tough if you are athletic, you need that protein.

And also, the animal thing. it is completely natural to kill animals for our own food. Its part of the circle of life and has been done since the beging of time. It is not natural to put pesticides and make processed meat, and feed animals unnatural foods, so choose organic meet if you are worried about the animals.

I'm on my second week with out meat. I replaced my meat with raw nuts. No problem, so far. I don't miss it. The farther I go, the less I miss it. I feel healthier, and have lost weight.

yes if you know the alternatives

No life is not better without meat!!!
Meat is awesome!
tha best hangover food is a greasy cheeseburger or souvlaki
bacon and eggs rock
chicken is the best meat eva
meat just goes so well with everything
y give it up its not like they are ever going to stop killing animals just coz ppl dont think its morally right!

great! u actually try new things, like I had never had papaya, mango, spinach, and rice milk befor... I LOVE them!!! for health, enviorment, animals, world hunger, w/e... there is a good upside (goveg.com)
only downside I can think of is conveniance, but its getting easier, pizza w/o cheese, veggie subs/wraps from subway, ruby tuesday veggie burger, salads, burger king veggie burgers, vegitable fried rice/ noodles and mixed veggies from chinese places, etc...

Why honey just look at the most famous vegetarian in history......Adolf Hitler.....Now isn't the world just a happy happy place because of him? What a shinning example to the world!!

And for all of those giving me a thumbs down .....Sit down get a really thick jucy cheeseburger...And lightnen up!!!

Life is absolutely better for me. Lighter conscience, more energy, more variety of foods ... I love animals, and I feel like I can relate to them better now. The clearer conscience is the biggest benefit - the knowledge that I'm following my value system as fully as I can is very fulfilling.

The downside is the reduced availability of easy-to-get food. But, eh - is my convenience worth an animals life? Heck no!

Oh - and I think that technically, the most famous vegetarian of late was Albert Einstein ...

when i quit i didnt really notice. get b vitamin supplements and iron.
i dislike how industrially harvested animals are treated...for them and for putting in my body. and although im considering eating meat again. id never touch that sh*t.
downsides is probably energy and protein if you really really train hard.

It is oh so much better. I never dread eating now.
I never get grossed out because everything I eat
is natural and plant based. It's the cleanest feeling
you can possibly have.
