Question:

Are you a vegeitarian??

is the diet healthy for you!??? Whats your diet or your tips on being a veg. and how do you keep up with it and make sure you dont eat meat? What do you do??

Answers:
Yes, for over 20 years, and my 4 year old daughter has been vegetarian from the womb. We are both extremely healthy and only go to the doctor for annual check ups. All diets can be healthy or unhealthy depending on the food choices you make, but in general a vegetarian diet is healthier than a meat eating one. Partly because vegetarians tend to be more health concious, and have to look into their diet a bit more.

There are many different levels of being vegetarian, and once you find the level that's comfortable for you it's quite easy to keep up. I'm ovo-lacto, which means I eat dairy products and eggs, it's by far the most popular type of vegetarianism.

Pitfalls to look for are to make sure you get enough protein (easy enough with dairy, and also soy, tofu, quorn and pulses) and omega 3, which you can get from flaxseed oil either in capsule form or as one of the ingredients in baked goods and salad dressings. Iron is easy enough to get if you like the dark green vegetables like broccoli and spinach.

When eating out, and buying foods from the supermarket like crackers, bread, cookies etc, you have the initial hassle of checking the ingredient list to make sure they do not contain animal fats, seasonings, flavourings, rennet (in cheese), whey (a cheese by-product likely to contain rennet) and gelatin. Once you know what to avoid though it's easy to sail through the supermarket aisles, and only check new things you fancy trying. Once your tastebuds adjust you soon find you don't miss meat in the least, and (for me at least) I'm much more adventurous in trying new foods.

NO

well it important to eat MEAT and stuff

is healthy, tips is eat more fresh fruits and veggs, drink lots of homemade juice

don't eat out in resturants that serves meat, or at least cut out fast food, i don't miss meat, so my biggest problem, is finding food, so i keep a bag of trail mix on me at all times

I am a Vegan.
Yes, It's very healthy. I have more energy, I have a stronger immune system.
One thing, you have to do some research. First you have to find out how you can have a well balanced, healthy vegetarian diet so you can get all of the essential nutrients from a plant based diet, the ones you will no longer be getting from Animal sources. Otherwise you may end up very sick. You'll have to know about all the hidden animal products in food(the ones that don't plainly say "meat" on the package, for example, gelatin) And once you have some info on them you'll have to start reading the ingredient labels on food to make sure that they are not in there. Good Luck.

I have been a vegetarian for 5 years, and only now starting to turn vegan, but I would be a hypocrite if I said I was fully vegan, because I still enjoy most food stuffs with glucose and dairy products in it.

Mostly I eat a lot of salads and fruits, pasta, bread, rice and things of that nature, and take some vitamin and iron tablets to make up what I miss from meat.

no, but I fully support PETA (People Eating Tasty Animals).

No ~~I am a VEGETARIAN!!!!!!!!!
