Could I eat all the salad I want and lose weight?

I have quit eating meat except fish. I really wanna get into that bathing suit and be more attractive to my bf although he says I'm not fat!!! Are there anymore ways to lose weight other than exercise? I'll try almost anything.

That sounds pretty good. I would take vitamins to make sure nothing is missing from your diet. Make sure you get calcuim, too. As for alot of salad: make sure you use fat free dressing, as that could be your downfall... good luck.

Make sure you use a good healthy salad dressing, but I wouldn't go as far as all the salad you want too much of anything is not good. Plus all that lettuce might give you the shits.

Salad is very good for you. Just remember not to put to much dressing. Have you thought of those new Salad Spritzers?

1. Don't lose weight for someone else.
2. You can eat whatever you want in moderation. If you go over how many calories etc you require in a day with any type of food, you'll gain weight.

well if he said your not fat u aint and as far as salads go you will get sick of them eat some veggies and fish

A proper diet, along with exercise.

Eating all the salad that you want will ensure that you don't get either the calories or the nutrients that you need on a day-by-day basis. You'll convince your body that you're starving, and it will respond by hoarding every calorie.

If your bf says you're fine as is, why not go with that idea. We are always more critical of ourselves than are others, and we never see ourselves are we really are. I'm talking about all people, not just women.

It would depend on what is in the salad. There are certain vegetables that you can eat freely(you could eat 1kg of that stuff and still not have consumed many calories...)

They are

Mushrooms
Capsicum
Tomatoes
Lettuce
Rocket
Herbs
green beans
cabbage
carrot
Broccoli
Cauliflower
Bok choy-or any leafy green vegetable

etc...also peas and corns have very few calories. Of course you would have to add things like nuts, dressing, olives, bread, tofu, meat, etc to make it a meal, but those are the things you can eat freely.

Weight-loss...COMPLETE meal replacements that are designed to totally replace your diet, such as Optifast, which is available at pharmacies...they come in shakes, mousses and soups.

Most salad dressings contain High fructose corn syrup. High fructose corn syrup is a cheap way to sweeten foods. It is in soooo many things. What happens when you eat normally is when you body is satisfied it will send a chemical called Leptin to your brain to say "I'm full". High fructose corn syrup blocks this chemical from reaching your brain. So instead of eating enough to just be satified, you over eat and stuff yourself. I would suggest cutting out the high fructose corn syrup and making your own salad dressing, I really like a little bit of olive oil, some lemon juice, some salt and some pepper. simple and really good tasting.
Also you want to make sure you get a balanced diet, not just all lettuce and tomatoes.

Dieting like that doesn't work (I've tried crazy stuff like that too). It'll just end up slowing your metabolism down, so you'll get into a routine of always having to eat small amounts.

The problem with salad isn't the vegetables, it is all the stuff we tend to put on it, including the fatty dressings and high calorie toppings. As a result it isn't as easy as simply eating salad and losing weight. You have to take control of what is on it and what is in it.
