He was the first of the Beatles to go veg, and convinced the others to do so as well.
He was married in '69, and the Beatles last album was in '70.
Way before he appeared on the Simpsons.
Fairly early on... probably before the Beatles split or right after.
And by the way, none of the other Beatles got "convinced" to go veggie. John Lennon's favorite foods clearly show that.
Long enough to have affected his common sense as far as women go.....
