What is "natural chicken flavour"? Is it vegetarian?!
What is "natural chicken flavour"? Is it vegetarian?
I'm just curious, because so many products list "natural [insert meat here] flavour" on their packaging.

And, if I may add to the question, what is "powdered cheese flavour"? I'm wondering if that contains animal rennet.

it's just powdered, dehydrated chicken stock.
obviously it is
perhaps they mean to say that it's chicken only - that it isn't roast chicken or chicken barbecue. and to be quite honest, if you put "natural" in there, in a marketing sense, it makes the product seem (seem only) "healthy" - the way the word "organic" may be misconceived. I agree with your first respondent. isn't that the stuff you get from cooking chicken in soup? because that's the only way I know how to get chicken flavour, too. and as for it being vegetarian, think of it this way:
there are vegetarians who drink milk, which comes from cows. there are also vegetarians who include eggs in their diet. hm. come to think of it, are there vegetarians who do not eat things like cake because most cakes are made of milk and eggs amongst other things. how about ice cream. a purist may say that adding "[insert meat here] flavour" is no longer vegetarian but I guess it's relative.
and remember it's just packaging.
good question.
till i know no
Natural chicken flavor means there is some sort of chicken by product in it like chicken fat.
Natural chicken falor is not vegetarian friendly. It contains meat products, usually chicken stock in powder form.
the "natural" means it is from anything in nature, including dead animals. Yes, there are animal products in cheese "flavor", as well as the flavoing in most chips, dorittos, snack, etc. I try to avoid anything marked "natural flavor or color" because the FDA has allowed it to become too broad spectrum. Remember, dog sh!t and cyanide are all natural too, but I don't want to eat them either!
I am a vegetarian, so when a see a package that has meat flavouring, I simply avoid it.
Yes, it does have dead Animals in it.
of course its not vegitarian chicken is meat so it not vegitarian.
