I would miss the occasional hamburger at Burger King or the prime rib at a restaurant
Red meat! I love prime rib and filet mignon.
I quit eating it for a while and ate a lot of pasta instead.
turkey and salmon. and gelatin.
I would miss the rare meat...I like to have the cooks just walk it thru a warm room, and when I bite it, the blood rushes out both sides of my mouth.....ohhhhhhhh yummy yum
I've been a vegetarian for two years; Vegan for about a year and a half. After this long, I don't miss anything. Well, earlier in my pregnancy, I was craving cheese, but I didn't give into it because I knew where it came from and becuase I didn't feel like spending the extra money. Well, there was the day I was at the grocery store and passed the deli counter. They had little blocks of cheese in a sample dome/tray thing. I took one and I chewed it; When I realized what I did, I looked for a paper napkin to spit it out, though I think I just wound up bending over a trash can, low, so nobody could really see (hopefully) and spat it out. Eh. The taste, at least, was satisfying.
Congrats on going veg.
cheeseburgers. i really dont like meat, but i have somehow never considered hamburgers : meat. i know, it is the most gross of all meat.
I tried it once....couldn't do it
there are too many things that I enjoy way too much~ and I could never go without ....... BBQ, steaks, chicken fajitas, roast, pork chops, grilled chicken, turkey (on holidays), ham, etc....
there is just no way!
My friend misses roast lamb, and i miss shepherd's pie. The one thing i also miss is the energy from the meat - take plenty of vitamins!
i wish i could be one, but it's the person i live with that makes it hard
Honestly with all the great options for vegetarians on the market I thankfully don't miss anything... for while it was barbecued chicken shish kabob but I found a very nice veg substitute.
I guess I miss the ability to tolerate the smell of flesh on the BBQ or walking by the meat counter in the grocery store without wanting to puke (because of the smell of the blood or juice and the site of animal parts under plastic).
I miss socializing with my friends at a meat oriented restaurant because the smell REALLY makes me quite ill.
With summer coming I dread the smells.
Being tolerant and having the stomach for it is what I miss... yes... that's it... it puts a kink in my socializing.... but I'm managing, my friends understand.
I miss being able to go to lunches and dinners with colleagues, new groups and not being treated like a freak.
The second I ask for a pasta dish without the meat it turns into "Ask the Vegetarian."
Some people have nice and intelligent questions, and others get stupid and condescending.
I remember when we talked about books or the weather during lunches.
:)
Wow I'm starting tomorrow to!
I think I will probably miss spicy chicken sandwiches from Rallys lol
I've been a vegetarian for 15 years, and the only thing I occasionally miss is shellfish. That's the one thing I can't seem to duplicate in any recipes.
when im hanging out with friends and they want 2 go 2 mcdanalds 2 get a hamburger, im eating a sallad, while there eating a hamburger.
or turkey on thanks giving
when my mom and i went shopping at wallmart we would get a container of bbq chicken and we'd eat it wile we shop cant do that no more!
and also, dont staop 2 moro, it wont work
meat is an addiction, like smoking, cant stop eating meat 2moro, stop now.
Well, with all the great fake meats on the market today I don't really miss anything, but I went to the mall a while back and got very sad looking at the meal I used to order from the Cajun Grill place, their Cajun meat is really the only thing I've missed.
Not being health conscious. When I was an omnivore I went to buffets and stuffed my face and ate whatever, soda, ice cream, processed foods,pizzas,cheez-its.Now that I'm vegan I actually think about what I eat.
I don't miss anything. I was a big meat eater, but now i'd NEVER eat it again. Once I craved Mozzarella sticks, so I just dipped Fries in Marinara sauce, it relieved the craving, haha.
I miss the grossest meats like hotdogs and pepperoni. But luckily they make amazing (and much less questionable) alternatives for vegetarians. It's not really that hard to make the switch. Good luck! =)
I've been vegetarian for 2.5 years, and the only thing I miss at times is the convenience. Stopping at Burger King on the way home, things like that. Otherwise I don't really miss anything, as most dishes can be substituted with fake meat.
The only thing I miss is one of those big nasty gas station corndogs that's been sitting under a heatlamp for hours. Man I loved those.
Tukey dinner at my mom's and her gravy made from the drippings.
seriously being able to pick food of other peoples plates
I miss eating something and not worrying about the ingredients. I miss eating on the run. I miss meeting friends of mine and going to the steak house for beers and a meal. I miss not being sickened by the sight of someone pulling meat off a bone with their teeth.
I miss being 23 and not caring about my health, because at 23 you have nothing to worry about.
I don't miss the meat anymore, wouldn't eat it if I was told it wouldn't affect me in anyway.
More than anything I missed that heart attack a doctor said was coming.
strangely, i don't miss any un-vegetarian meal! i thought it was going to be hard, especially since i loved eating chicken with fried rice and banana sauce (<---asian ketchup), a regular meal my family and i ate. even i don't miss that!
i just LOVE being a vegetarian... i've been able to experiment more with food than doing the usual cut-up-the-meat-n'-throw-it-in... thing. i always liked shopping for food, but now i like it even more. and who knew that steaming organic broccoli and topping it with some melted organic earth balance buttery spread would be so dang good?!
healthy food is so rewarding... good luck on being a vegetarian!
Nothing, I never felt better!
My doctor and using the health ins. I pay a fortune for. Since becoming Vegan I never get to see the doctor because I am so healthy, but I still pay for the health ins. at least before I used it.
Nothing. I never liked meat.
I can tell you what I DONT miss- having a massive meat laden bowel movement every three days, instead of going regularly like I do now (after every meal, which is what is normal-like a baby before we go and plug them up with meat) I DONT miss the wheelchair and hand braces I was in when I ate meat, and I DONT miss going to the doctor every week. Have been veggie for over 3 years, and am perfectly healthy now. I don't miss anything about meat.. Good luck on your journey.
I miss absolutely nothing. Well, sometimes tuna in a salad or with pasta but then I think at all the pain the animals were in and I start feeling noxious and don't want to eat anymore, so...
