Is egg white pure fat or the yellow?!
Is egg white pure fat or the yellow?
Sometimes I eat boiled eggs for breakfast and once my friend told me that she never eats the yellow stuff because it is pure fat. But then I had this other friend who said she doesn't eat the egg white instead because it was pure fat.
Answers:
Neither is "pure fat". The whites are pure protein. The yolk is a mixture of protein and fat (roughly 50-50). Of course, in both the white and the yolk, the first ingredient is water.
As a general rule of thumb, a small egg gives you 6 g of protein, 3 in the white and 3 in the yolk. There's also 3 g of fat, all in the yolk.
Egg white is very lean. It's the yellow yolk that has all the fat and cholesterol. That's why dieters eat egg white omelets.
i would think that it is the egg white because the yellow is the baby chicken. plus, mayonaise is made from egg whites and it 100 calories of fat...
it makes me laugh how uniformed i apparently am. eh, eggs are disgusting anyway.
The yolk has all of the fat. Egg whites have all of the protein. Um..mayonnaise is made from egg yolks.
The yolk is the high-cholesterol and fatty portion of the egg (and if it includes a baby chicken, you're not eating the right eggs).
Neither. You see, the white is supposed to provide the developing chick with water, and the yolk provides food. It probably contains some fat, but no animal can live on fat alone for long. I do know that it contains plenty of protein and iron as well, nutrients that are really important. If you don't eat the egg yolk, you might as well skip the egg, unless you're on a food-free diet.
egg white is almost pure protein and very healthy for you
the yolk is the part with most of the fat content and calories in the egg
Neither is pure fat, or pure lean, the white is albumen which is a protein and the yolk has all the other nutrients, don't cook it in butter, and you will get the full benefit of the 90 calorie egg, btw, although there is cholesterol in the yolk it not likely to show up in your blood, you blood cholesterol has be found to be far more influenced by your genetics than your one egg twice a week.
Unless you want your hair and nails to look like dried straw, you need some fat in your diet.
The fat and cholesterol are in the yolk. The whites are quite lean. Many people think the yolk is a baby chicken-it is not. It is unfertalized. Its similar to a womans period-its not a baby if it was not fertilized and is expelled and discarded by the hen
yes the egg yolks are the higher fat content... and if u like scrambled eggs then u can buy egg whites in a carton or you can buy egg beaters which is just egg whites with yellow food coloring... but most people use the egg beaters if there so use to eating yellow eggs which most people are. also if you have kids its a good idea to give kids the egg beaters to feed them health and by tricking them by the color.
and mayonnaise is made from egg yolks and vinegar and a small amount of other ingredients not egg whites they just look that color because of the machines they use that help whip the mayonnaise more
egg white is pure protein...
the eggs whites are better for you, with lots of protein, the yolks-the yellow- have the cholesterol and fat.
*If your making an omelette an idea is to put in all white and some of the yolks.
The egg yellow is the pure fat, that's why it tastes so good lol. The egg whites are good for you and for your cholesterol.
No part of the egg is pure fat, but the yolk contains more than the white.
