For vegetarians... What made you want to become a vegetarian?!

Question:

For vegetarians... What made you want to become a vegetarian?

Answers:
im 16 and i've been vegeterian coming up for one year now, and the reason is because i love animals! A friend showed me the kfc cruelty website and i felt so sick when i read about the evil ways that innocent chickens are treated. Reading information such as that, and seeing horrible pictures, means i will never eat meat again! Animals dont deserve it, and i've encouraged alot of my friends to stop eating at places like KFC. Also, hearing information such as 'one vegeterian saves the lives of 100 animals every year' makes me proud that im veggie and im making a difference!

i love animals

They put growth hormones in meat which causes complications for humans. I am now a vegan and will be until that changes.

Well I learned in school about how they killed animals, and I am an animal lover, so I stopped eating animals and I got a few of my friends to become vegitarians too :). The less people who eat animals, the less they will kill them! It will take hundreds of years for the animals to be stopped form being killed, but you can help by becoming 1 less!

I used to be a long distance runner - and one day I woke up and didn't feel like eating any meat anymore - I have no explanation, I wasn't trying to or planning on be a vegetarian - it just happened. Weird, I know.....

high cholesterol and poor digestion. until the meat supply system is cleaned up, i doubt i will eat red meat or chicken. fish might become necessary if i am training heavily or have some type of nutrition problem, but good meal planning should negate that.

I read this little book from the library (don't even remember the name now) a few years ago about the horrible treatment of animals prior to being slaughtered. That picture stayed in my mind and now it's no longer eating meat, it's eating a beautiful creature that didn't deserve it.

I am a vegan. I became a one for 3 reasons:
1) for the animals
2) I never really liked meat.
3) For my health
And I have never been happier :) lol

1) animals suffering
2) hormones used in meat
3) health reasons
4) moral reasons
5) logical reasons
