If im a vegan..am i allowed to eat french fries or any kind of fries??
Answers:
Yes, but not necessarily at fast food restaurants, as they often use animal fats for frying and/or fry the vegetables in the same oil as the meats. So you can eat fries, but it depends on what type of oil you fry them in.
alot of the ones you buy in the supermarket, (or from maccas or burger king etc.), are dipped in beef tallow (beef fat) before packaging, make your own at home, they're heaps better.
usually, (or where i am at least) they're not cooked in anmal fat, but are cooked in the same fat as meat/meat products)
maybe someones got a recipe for you?
As long as it's not made in any animal fat.
You can eat vegetable fries if they are cooked in non-animal fats...veg/olive oils, etc. Personally I make my own potato fries at home and do not support the convenience or fast food corporations.
Sure you can eat french fries, I guess, it depends on what they are made with though. You'll have to check the ingredients (I am talking about the store bought frozen kind). Or you could be safe and make home-made ones.
As far as fast food fries, just be safe and stay away.
I started looking into this stuff recently.
McDonald's fries are not vegan, they are not even vegetarian.
Wendy's fries are actually vegan, but on the website it says that they can be fried in the same oil as chicken and fish, and I wouldn't think that vegans or vegetarians would want anything like that.
Burger King's fries are vegan, and on their website it says that the french fries are cooked in their own separate fryer. So I guess burger Kings are the best choice.
Don't eat at those places anyway though... they suck! lol
My computer is being slow today... or else I would give you the links... but If you want to know, just go to their websites and look for ingredient info.
yes.. but if the fries have no animal products, then neither should the oil
Yes, but you have to be really careful because a lot of fast food resturaunts use beef flavoring or lard in there french fries. You can check out the ingredients at there website.
Oh and i know Wendys french fries are safe, but Mcdonalds are not.
Burger Kings fries their french fries is also safe.
Like i said you can always check it out at their website.
some places like mcdonalds in the US, do not sell veg fries, there cooked in beef oils. But making your own fries is obviously fine
you are "allowed" to eat whatever you wish-the veggie police wont come calling. Yes, you can eat fries. Keep in mind that most fast food fries have beef tallow and some milk products in them, and find out what kind of oil they are cooked in-if its lard, stay away from it. Homemade fries are great-so are rutebegga and turnip fries-yum
Good luck with your vegan lifestyle-it rocks
Yes, just bake them or fry them in a vegetable oil.
WOW, I didn't know some of these facts. But now that I do I will avoid eating most fries (I hardly do anyway, they can be high in calories)....
While being Vegan it's best to prepare food at home. Always read the ingredients as well, that's very important.
You don't have to fry french fries. I bake them, it's safe that way.
Only if you make them yourself in like sunflower oil...most resturants are fried in animal fat.
