Vegetarian and high i.q.?!

Question:

Vegetarian and high i.q.?

Is it true vegetarins have higher i.q.'s

Answers:
No. There was a study done that showed that children with high iq's are more likely to grow up to be vegetarian. But that doesn't make all vegetarians smart.

nope

No,people that have high IQ's are more likely to be a vegetarian.

no

no
vegans and meat eaters have da same iq
they just think differently on whether to eat meat or not

No, I would have to think this is not true with the assumption vegetarins consume less protein. Protein enables cell development, therefore, ones brain is more likely to develop and evolve over time. Thus, making ones IQ higher if they eat meat.

Yes, this is true. I read about it in the paper. Vegetarians scorred higher than meat eaters. But only slightly. This does not convince me to stop eating meat. I love a grilled porterhouse steak, fried chicken, beef stew, chilli, or a good roast. I don't think my brain is so impared for eating meat that I can't function or have a good life. I don't need to be a genious.

yes and no. I am a vegetarian, and although I have a high scoring I.Q., and I have since birth, and I have NOT been a vegetarian since birth. It was researched and found to be true that young children who have a high I.Q., can likely become vegetarians. Adults who classified themselves as vegetarian tended to be five points higher in IQ when they were tested at age 10. it has also been studied and proven true that women who had a vegetarian diet while they were pregnant, and continued to feed their infant a vegetarian diet, had babies that were generally "smarter" than the average child. it was found that Vegetarians were also more likely to have a higher occupational social class and to have higher academic or vocational qualifications than non-vegetarians. it was also found that Vegans and Vegetarians held the same IQ, but there is no difference to their scoring together.
so, it is true for the most part, yes.

I'm not sure, but I will tell you one thing: I.Q.'s are almost completly meaningless and useless. Give a guy 10 differant I.Q. tests and he is likely to come out with ten differant I.Q.'s. Hell, you can give him the same test month after month and it will change. Why should it matter anyways, people with higher IQ's tend to be less happy, that is if you can believe the studies, which are also a major waste of time and come out with a billion differant results.

I know many geniuses have been vegetarian as Leonardo da Vinci .. Albert Schweitzer , along with numerous other Nobel prize winners .. but to be fair there are people with high IQ's that eat meat .. makes you wonder then why the meat eaters with high IQs are so uninformed ... or pretend to be ..

Nope

There was a study which said on average high IQ children were more likely to become vegetarians, and I think it did say on average veggies had a higher IQ. This though has nothing to do with the diet, this is due to that the people who decide to change their diet to what they are told is better are more likely to be intelligent, on average, considering all the chain smoking, thick as two short planks, portion of the population which isn't going to give a fig about changing their diet.

Worth noting that in this study those who ate meat rarely, or didn't eat red meat, etc were considered as vegetarians. I think I heard that when they were compared to the real vegetarians, there was no difference.
Also consider many, if not most, vegetarians ate meat during childhood or adolescence, when most of ones intelligence is made.

The study also showed on average vegans had a lower IQ than the average meat eater, which I find ironic.

So, what I'm trying to say is that vegetarianism doesn't affect IQ.

Vegan and proud is exactly right. People who are veg*ns tend to have higher IQs because they care deeply about an issue (animal rights, the environment) and they practice a great deal of restraint. They don't get higher IQs from being veg*n, its the other way around.
