Becoming Vegetarian?

I am thinking of trying out Vegetarianism, has anyone got any tips for weening themselves off meat?

If you have a clear idea of WHY you want to be a vegetarian it will be easier. If you want to stop eating meat because of the cruelty and suffering of animals it would make sense to think about them before you eat some meat. Thinking about them will suffering and dying will likely put the "taste" for meat out of your mind. If you are wanting to be more healthy just be thinking of arteries clogged with fat and heart diseases and again you likely will pass on the meat.

I'm not vegetarian but I don't have a crave for meat. Well, I think you should try thinking about where meat comes from. Believe it or not, some chinese don't like to eat shark fin soup because they think of the 'poor thing' shark. Think about how people kill chickens and pluck the feathers off them. yuck!!

vegetarian is good but make sure it's fresh n better nutritions,never try preservative food which has lots of chemicals n colorings.take care.

try a 30 day pledge. DO NOT under circumstanced eat meat for 30 days then you will be so proud of yourself that you won't try to eat meat because you will be scared to mess up what you have been working for. It is great for you and your enviornment! try vegeterian stuff like fake chicken nuggests from wallmart. and just when you want to eat out like a MCdonalds or somthing get fries and a salad or somthing thats what i always do.

they even have a patch to stop wearing patches

i guess the only tip i can give you is eat less meat then you normaly do. PLEASE dont try giveing meat up all touether at first because it never works. eventually your stop eating meat

Thinking you have to, or want to, eat meat is just a mental thing.

Weaning off or reducing will just re-enforce the thought that you are restricting your diet. You will continue to think you are "loosing" something.

Think of it as opening up to more variety in other foodstuffs.

I recently went through the process of going veg. At most grocery stores they have a section with vegitarian foods. They have foods that taste like meat but it is tofu and veggies. Try veggie burgers and i personally like Chick-N-Nuggets. Totally meat free. Yum.
