I am curious, why are you vegetarian?!
I am curious, why are you vegetarian?
Do you abstain from ALL things that come FROM animals, like milk, or only things that result in the death of an animal, like eggs.
Incidently, eggs found in a grocery store have not been fertilized, and will not germinate.

I am a Vegetarian coz the reason is why should I kill someone just to satiate my hunger for one time.
And I do not accept the logic that milk is non-vegetarian simply because you dont kill anyone. Dint we all drink milk of our mothers when we were growing up? Would you consider it as non-vegetarian food?
I dont eat eggs because they are nothing but the semen of hen. Just notice the yellowish colour, the stickiness of egg yolk, proteins it contains etc. Just imagine eating the semen of someone. I feel I need to vomit out something just at the thought of eating someone's semen, right? Also, just notice where it comes out from the hen? Ewwwwwww............ :-(
I eat all vegetables, consume milk and dairy products. I dont eat meat, eggs etc.
And I am proud to be vegetarian. But another important point I believe in is that non-vegetarians are not some kinda sinners who should be ostracised. Just like non-smokers, who at times look at smokers with much disdain. I disagree with that kind of orthodox or fundamentalist viewpoint. Ultimately, its a question of one's choice.

Good question lady. Thumbs up from me!
my friend is a vegetarian and she doesnt eat the eggs
A vegan doesn't eat anything that comes from animals, like dairy, eggs, etc. A vegetarian just doesn't eat meat.
And I am a vegetarian simply because I don't like the taste of meat.
I am a vegan because I believe that animals will be the ones in power someday, and I do not want them to be angry with me.
thier are different kinds of Vegitarians, thier are those that don't eat any meat, and then thier are those (like me) Who don't eat Pork, Fish or Beef. I only eat Chicken and Turkey.
I am a Vegetarian becuase I saw a video of how they kill Animals. It's horrifying. And how they live. So when I do but Eggs or Meat I only buy Free Range Meat and Eggs. It a little more expensive, but those 3 dollars can make a chicken feel very happy.
There are many reasons for people to become vegetarians. Specifically, I became a vegetarian about 20 years ago because I didn't like the taste of meat. I have remained a vegetarian because I have really bad Cholesterol genes - both sides of family have heart disease! At 30something, I have a vegetarian lifestyle and excercise, but my cholesterol is still 205! (FYI - Cholesterol is not present in anything but animal products). Think how high it would be if I ate meat?! Unfortunately, I have seen a lot of people endure open heart surgery, I would like to avoid it, if possible!
I know a lot of people who choose vegetarianism for health reasons, but other reasons are animal lovers, and religions.
As far as the health - check out Dr. McDougall - he has a whole healthy vegetarian diet.
I don't eat meat and seafood and try to eat as little milk and eggs as possible because the conditions for animals are horrible. And it is not respectful for people in Africa/Asia who starve so that we can feed the animals to eat them. I am not so far though that I will give up all animal products but that time will come... Just to show respect and because I believe it to be healthier (my opinion)
i turned into one b.c i didn't want to be fat anymore. the only dairy product i drink is skim/nonfat milk. so i wouldn't quite say that im a vegan. Did you know that meat digest out of your body 3 days later? Imagine eating it like everyday...
I am a vegan, Vegans do not eat any meat, or any thing that came from meat. Also I don't wear anything from an animal, And I try my best not to use anything that has been tested on an animal, I try to keep updated on that.
A vegetarian(Ova- Lacto or lacto- Ova) <- meaning that they don't eat meat, but they consume animal products like milk(lacto) and eggs(ova).
I feel bad for the animals. beaten put in cages for what.. dinner look at what your eating dead flesh .. disgusting
i don't eat anything animal, not even animal crackers
i do it because i like to save animal, and it's taste better eating fruit and vegg, it tastes so damn good
I am vegetarian because I do not want to be responsible for inflicting suffering and death on another being. I do not want to cut lives short, rip apart families, condone slaughter and abuse. It's also conveniently a healthy diet, but my reasons lie in my love for animals and my belief that they deserve natural longevity, a life free from abuse and suffering, and the respect that we would want if we were them. Being powerful does not give one the right to inflict suffering.
If you want to be more logical about it, I would not want to be abused, for my children to be killed, my life cut short, my body consumed by ignorant but powerful beings. How then, can I condone these things being done to another? I can't.
I was vegan for a year (no meat, dairy or eggs) but it was incredibly difficult so I returned to being a vegetarian. I only eat free-range, organic eggs and I don't drink a lot of milk but I do eat dairy. If I ever travel to the US, I won't eat dairy over there though because a) the conditions for dairy cows are far worse over there than in Australia and b) they have many more and better dairy substitutes over there, as far as I can tell.
So currently, I don't eat meat of any kind (red, white, seafood) and I generally don't food with gelatine etc. I don't eat eggs that aren't free-range and organic.
The issue with eggs is generally nothing to do with the fertilisation. I know the idea of that is off-putting for people and it is a bit for me, but the main issue is the way the hens who lay the eggs are treated. If eggs are free-range and organic, and better yet stamped with the RSPCA symbol, I know the hens have been treated well and have not suffered in laying the eggs.
