Wheat and dairy are horrible for you.?!

Question:

Wheat and dairy are horrible for you.?

i'm doing a study on how unhealthy dairy and wheat is. I talked to a nutritionist today and she told me so many people are fooled into thinking just because some bread is “whole” it is good for you, but its not. Milk is one of the most overrated nutrients. They have been attacked tremendously in the last couple years because of their saying “milk does the body good” recent studies show it doesn’t do good at all. And you can get the same amount of nutrients that you would get from those two food groups from salmon and sardines, and fruits and veggies. My question is, what are your opinions on this controversial topic?

you are just too damn worried about what experts say. life is too short not to eat what you like. the key to nutrition is DOING SOMETHING and not just sit around. if your body can digest it, you're fine. people drink milk cause they like it, and wheat is useful for many foods.

hmmm. i say i eat what i want when i want it. i look goooodahh!

You need to checkout the importance of wheat here:
www.wheatgrasskits.com/issue15...
I am sure you need to understand between Junk food and Healthy food to understand the importance of wheat.

Now as far as Milk goes :http://www.dairygoodness.ca/en/consumers...

Seems to me that you are most fussiest person because of which you have gone to a nutritionist instead of believing your parents and elders at home.

According to me the unhealthy food is the Junk food, the french fries and the food that is fried.

May God Give you the Vision on this

I can't drink milk anyways because I'm lactose intolerant, so I drink soy instead. I still eat some dairy though just because I need the calcium. I think wheat is good for you especially the kind that is "whole" because it provides you with B vitamins and fiber.

Talk to other nutritionists and go to a natural food store to speak with other people. Milk and other dairy foods (from cows) may have loads of hormones in them; I'm not sure why it's necessary to inject hormones into a cow, but it does happen, with the FDA's approval. At natural food stores/co-ops, you can buy dairy products, including eggs, which are from 'happy, natural' cows and chickens. They do taste better to me. When fresh fruits and vegetables are in season, I buy them. Also, there are many who are lactose intolerant, you know, they have trouble digesting milk (it can go farther than that). I will continue to eat and drink dairy. I don't eat bread often. I really despise fish. And I do eat meat, though about three times per week. I substitute this for peanut butter, no additives except salt, because I like the taste. Much luck in your studies.

Salmon --with the bones intact-- has a lot of calcium. So do almonds. Mild is both too high in phosphorus, and it causes phlegm, which virus, bacteria, fungus, & parasites thrive in. Wheat has been developed to a point that the protein is very difficult to digest, plus much less than in other grains such as Kamut (an original wheat), Spelt, Amaranth (not a grain, but used as one) and others.

I have multiple chemicle sensitivity (MCS) & have a bad reaction a few days after eating wheat, so I avoid it completely.
Mild & milk products I use sparingly, opting for soy products instead most of the time. Especially healthy are the tofu. Something about it being Fermented makes it more Healthy, and something about it Not being fermented makes it somewhat Unhealthy.

Regarding "whole" wheat... "whole grain" is the only designation that means it is actually whole. "Whole wheat' only means that there are all the components of whole wheat, but not in balance... i.e., they can remove all but one teaspoon of bran, and still call it "whole wheat".

oh my, this is a touchy subject. i'm not sure about wheat being bad for you... in fact, it is reported in kevin trudeau's "natural cures" book that it is bad, but i'll have to do my research on that first.

but, i do know about the milk. this is a very simply concept: cow milk is made for... you guessed it, CALVES! just as human breast milk is made for human babies, cow milk is made for their own kind.

america is the land of the free, blah blah blah... but it is also the land of some pretty darn crooked politicians and corporations. the milk and meat industry have convinced the whole nation that dairy and meat are "essential" parts of a nutritious and healthy diet when in fact, these two have actually contributed to the overall percentage of debilitating diseases, including (but not limited to) cancer, osteoporosis, heart disease, etc. if you hear about how good meat and dairy are for you, find out who funded that propaganda... don't be surprised if it comes from those very industries.

if you want calcium, eat vegetables. you can get as much calcium in an 8 oz glass of organic carrot juice (from a juicer) as you can in a glass of milk. protein, which many people will argue can only be obtained by eating meat, can be found in vegetables, nuts, beans and legumes.

as for salmon, brainready.com does commend WILD, not farm-raised, salmon as a good source of protein and omega-3 fatty acids.

do more research. you'll be shocked to see how we've been delusioned into our present way of thinking about our health and our food. it's all about making the extra buck to them.

best wishes :o)

I agree totally, with an exception. Wheat is very bad for you, and is sadly in everything. Many people suffer chronic illnesses, that are really nothing more than undiagnosed food allergies, with wheat being the most common. If you mix white flour and water together, you get glue-the same thing happens in your digestive track-its coated with a glue like substance. As for milk, COMMERCIAL milk is awful-the cows are fed an unnatural diet, pumped full of steroids and antibiotics, and growth hormones, and all of that ends up in the milk. Raw, fresh, milk, straight from a cow though, has all of the enzymes necessary to digest itself, and is well tolerated even by the most severe milk allergic people. (myself included) Yes, you can get everything you need from a wheat free, dairy free, plant based diet. Mother nature provides it all.

To each his own ---- one man's food could be anothers poison.

Look at it this way, buy a whole wheat bread and check the back... read the ingredients... is it only wheat... don't think so (plus do some research most of the wheat used conventionally is genetically modified... try looking up a traditional wheat porridge), secondly look at milk, where does it come from cows... if the cows are fed on an unnatural diet they are going to produce unnatural milk with out it's original health given qualities. Then take in the fact that the milk is pastuerized (destroys over 90% of enzymes that increase digestibility and denatures proteins one of them being cystine I believe) and the milk used in studies is low fat and not whole milk (natural state). How do the check for pastuerization... if there is no phosphate, what does phosphate do... absorbs calcium... so you can't readily absorb the calcium from the milk.
YOUR ARGUMENT IS ABOUT AS WELL SET UP AS saying we should not eat vegetables because vegetables tainted with salmonnella cause desease
Plus most herbivores have several stomachs (cows have four) humans have one.

Wheat, it's good.
I used to have an organic whole grain all natural: flour, water, starter, ancient Utah sea salt bakery. No yeast, all good stuff. I did lots of research on wheat and problems people have digesting it (crones disease, gluten intolerance, etc.) and in the end, wheat is not their problem, their poor health and digestion in general is their problem. I read about and had many many such customers and the one thing they all had in common was the fact that they had a poor diet to start with. Otherwise, there was no other factor that linked them together. Wheat was just one thing on a very long list of things for them. They are all following symptoms and not looking at the cause. Just with diabetes, osteoporosis, cancer, and the list goes on The problem with wheat is that it is probably the most highly adulterized grain in the world. I had a bakery; I know all (a lot of) the industry tricks and secrets. You look at a product ingredient list and it says "flour" or "wheat flour" or "salt" or "sugar"... basically, ingredients on packages are meaningless. What kind of flour? What species? What genus? From where? What was added or taken away? How old is it? There are ingredients within ingredients within ingredients... The only thing the government protects us from is from instant death from eating a product. That is all. Otherwise, most products are literally not fit to eat at all. They are designed from the ground up to make money, nothing more, nothing less. They will do anything they can to make the costs for production lower and to get the consumer to buy more. There's a reason flour is white, it's because it has been stripped down to nearly nothing at all. It has so few nutrients that the government made them add vitamins back in to prevent malnutrition. As long as the effects are not immediately evident, then it's OK, do whatever you want.

Actually, meats, fish, dairy, oils and their associated products are all unhealthy for you. For further information, see www.drmcdougall.com. I understand that wheat is actually a man-made product -- and considering what we know of man-made products today that serve profit over health -- that alone, makes me suspicious of wheat. However, there are people who are also gluten-intolerant, a condition in which the small intestine reacts to the ingestion of gluten by stopping nutrients from being well-absorbed in the body (a situation which later leads to serious diseases). Therefore, such people MUST, if they wish to stay healthy, stay away from even the slightest ingestion of wheat, rye, barley and oats (oats because there is a high possibility of oats being contaminated by the other grains).

There are excellent reasons not to eat meat. Our environment can simply not sustain the burden of keeping animals for food. Only one simple reason as an example -- the environment cannot process the waste left behind by animals in a non-toxic manner -- overload poisons the land. More plant foods can feed more people per acre than the same acre can sustain when producing meat products. Cows are unnaturally fed grains (for convenience), when they are supposed to naturally eat grass. To combat the problems cows have when eating what isn't good for them, they are injected with antibiotics (which we later ingest and become diseased from). I won't go into IgH. Compare human teeth with nature. Animals intended to eat meat (like lions), have large piercing canines. They have short intestines, which processes the nutrients from meat quickly, then expels waste efficiently. In comparison, humans have flat, square teeth for simple tearing and grinding of plant-based foods. Our intestines are super-long, intended to properly digest plant foods. There's more examples of why we are intended to eat plant based foods. These are just a few. I hope this helps your research.
