What's the difference between a vegetarian and a vegan?!
What's the difference between a vegetarian and a vegan?
Answers:
A vegetarian is one who just doesn't eat meat of any kind. They will eat things made from animal by-products. They will eat eggs and dairy. A vegan does not consume or use anything that comes from any type animal (anything with a face) This includes eggs and dairy, even honey in some cases. They will not wear or use anything made of any kind of hide or pelt from a living creature. They are very strict, even down to their personal hygiene products.....they must be absolutely animal by-product free. It is difficult at times to accommodate the strict regimen and beliefs of a vegan, but in time one can adjust. The hardest part about feeding, clothing and caring for a vegan is the cost. Many of the all natural foods and products can only be found in health food stores and markets and this can run into some serious $$$. It costs money to be healthy!
Vegan's don't eat anything that comes from an animal, such as milk or cheese.
vegans dont have any milk products
vegan is a lifestyle, no comsumption of anything derived from animals from clothes to food (even eggs and milk)
vegetarian is just a person who chooses to eat greens over meat.
vegans are more strict I think
also tastier to eat
Vegetarian = no meat Vegan = no meat, or animal by-products like cheese, eggs, ect...
vegetarian- eats no meat whatso ever.
vegan-eats some types of meat. Eg)fish egg etc.
A vegetarian does not eat meat. They have vegetables, cheese, milk, etc, but no meat. A vegan however, not only does not eat meat, but also no cheese, milk, etc. They stick to soy products or tofu products. To be honest, I couldn't do it. I love meat too much, but I will say, it is a much healthier lifestyle, and the food is not all that bad.
Vegetarians, do not eat any meat products, but they eat dairy products and eggs.Vegans do not consume any animal products.
many vegetarians still eat dairy and eggs. Vegans do not consume anything that comes from an animal, do not wear leather or other animal based clothing, and do not use products that were tested on animals.
Vegans eat only non-meat and no animal by-products (like gelatin, eggs, milk, and cheese that all come from an animal).
Vegetarians eat no meat but they will eat the by-products and sometimes things like fish. Pesca-vegetarians eat fish, lacto-ovo-vegetarians eat milk and eggs.
I'm a lacto-ovo vegetarian *most* of the time. Growing up on a farm, I'll sometimes eat meat, too. So, I call myself a "quasi-vegetarian" but that's not an official term : )
vegans don't eat eggs and dairy products, but vegetarians do
A vegetarian does not eat meat (some may eat fish).
A vegan does not eat any meat or any products made from animals - this includes eggs, all dairy and the like.
I would first like to make the correction that vegetarians do NOT eat fish or other sea creatures, if they do then they are not vegetarian simple as that. Look here for the definition
Vegetarian―There are several categories of vegetarians, all of whom avoid meat and/or animal products. The vegan or total vegetarian diet includes only foods from plants: fruits, vegetables, legumes (dried beans and peas), grains, seeds, and nuts.
The lactovegetarian diet includes plant foods plus cheese and other dairy products. The ovo-lactovegetarian (or lacto-ovovege-tarian) diet also includes eggs.
Semi-vegetarians or Pescetarianism
do not eat red meat but include chicken and fish with plant foods, dairy products, and eggs.

Ok so back to your question
A vegetarian is someone who does not eat the flesh from any of the animals from the animal kingdom, those include mammals, birds, fish, reptiles, amphibians, insects, crustaceans etc. A vegetarian may or may not include dairy products, eggs, honey etc into there diet. A vegetarian may or may not buy leather, silk, wool and other animal products used for clothing etc. A vegetarian may or may not buy cosmetics made from animal products.
A vegan on the other hand is a type of vegetarian who is far more strict and will not eat or buy anything that came from or is any kind of animal.
Vegetarians eat dairy products such as milk, cheese etc and eggs, while vegans eat no animal products at all. Ovo-lacto vegeterias eat both eggs and dairy products, lacto dont eat eggs only dairy, and ovo dont eat dairy, only eggs.Hope I helped!
A vegan consumes or uses no animal products (no eggs, dairy, fish or seafood, leather products, etc). Anything made from or by an animal.
A vegetarian often times eats dairy, eggs, and may use leather products and such. While I don't agree, a lot of people don't consider fish or seafood a meat so some vegetarians eat fish or seafood and still consider themselves vegetarians.
Hope this helps!
Whereas most vegetarians consume dairy and egg products, vegans do not. The dairy industry is what's keeping the veal industry running since dairy cows have to be impregnated every year and the calves generally go to veal factories. Also, all dairy cows, unless they die from disease first, end up being slaughtered. Hens are treated horrifically as well, and many of them end up being slaughtered as well. The only drawback to a vegan diet is that you have to time to really check labels and plan your meals carefully, which can be difficult in our fast-paced society.
Vegans are pure vegetarians who don't even take dairy and dairy products, fish, nor eggs. Vegetarians fit into different categories....some eat eggs, some eat dairy and dairy products, and some consume fish as well.
