Dude...
Some days you are a vegetarian
Others you are a vegan
Some times you are completely against vegetarianism
Other times you have no idea what a vegetarian is
And today you don't know the difference between an animal and a vegetable
Here is a hint:
Find something better to do with your time

fish are neither they are a mammal

Fish are animals, they are certainly not vegetables...

Vegetarians are divided on whether its okay to eat fish or not. I think it is up to they individual. If you are abstaining from meat for heal reasons, go ahead and grab that sushi roll. If you are avoiding meat for moral grounds, well then again... its up the the individual. Decide what makes sense to you.

animals!!! they do not grow in the ground and are not rooted to the spot. alot of people opt to eat seafood that are otherwise vegetarian. it is completely your choice.

Really??? Are you serious??? Vegetables???

i thought fish were elefants!

you are freaking retarded. Eat whatever teh heck you want. Fish are animals dumbass. many vegetarians feel they are ok to eat though.

i think both.good luck.

They are definitely not vegetables.

There are variations on vegetarian diets, those who eat fish are pesco-vegetarians... but fish are not vegetables...

Edit: lol Cliff! I think you asked the wrong question. Actually fish are usually cold blooded aquatic vertebrates... they are animal, but not mammal ~ But what matters is your definition of vegetarian. You appear to be actually vegan (plant only)... if you want to eat fish go for it ;-)

Maybe they are minerals!

it is meat either way

Fish are mammels, not animales or veggies Some vegeterians include seafood and some don't It's a personel choice. kitkatz06

OK...I'm totally in awe of this question. The fact that a person who has the ability to operate a computer and type out words does not have a clue whether a fish is an animal or a vegetable makes my brain cells scream out in agony.

Then I read on...and find that people think not only that mammals are not animals, but fish are mammals, therefore cannot be animals.

I don't know whether to weep for the future, or rejoice in the knowledge that I'll never have to compete against these people for any job that requires cognitive thinking skills.

...and these are tomorrow's (today's?) parents.

their an animal, this si basic science. havent you ever went to 3rd grade? thats when you learn what an animal is.

How is a fish a vegetable??? OMG.. I can not even believe this question. ITS ANIMAL... Fish is MEAT.... You cut the dead fish open... and get the meat out of it.... its MEAT... its not a vegetable...OMG

Fish are part of the animal kingdom. Someone who claims to be vegetarian but still eats fish and other sea food is simply not vegetarian. http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/vegetar...

Someone who eats fish but otherwise eats the same diet as a vegetarian is called a pescetarian http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/pescetarian...

Sorry folks but a fish is not a mammal
what is a mammal?

Mammal = A warm blooded animal that feeds its young milk, all mammals have hair in at least some part of their lives, whale calves are even born with small hairs on their heads and lips, most mammals give birth to their young (There are very few mammals that lay eggs, called Monotremes (for example the platypus).

Fish are not warm blooded, they do not feed their young milk, and do not have hair. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/fish#what_i...

vegetables don't bleed and certainly don't have bones.

Fish is an animal. If you're a pure vegan, you don't touch fish, nor any dairy and dairy products, nor eggs. However, there're some vegetarians who do consume fish as well.

Fish are meat. They have eyes and they have brains and they had a mother. They do not grow out of the ground, and they reproduce in the way that animals do.

no, fish are not a vegetable. If you want to eat fish go ahead, it just means you would be pescatarian, and not vegetarian. No harm in that. Vegetarians dont eat fish. Eat whatever you want and dont try to fit into a neat little label or group. Your food choices are a matter of personal preference. Good luck!

D'oh, fish are animal.

It's there a point to this? We all know that "vegetarians" who eat meat, such as fish, are hypocritical and misinformed. The contradiction is transparent.

Fish have blood,do real vegetables have blood in them?Theres your answer.Blood means they bleed ...DUH.

how the heck could a fish be a vegetable? it is an animal and it is meat. "vegetarians who eat fish" are not really vegetarians.

If it has a face or a mother it is a meat. Plus i don't think vegetables have a heart, brain blood and stomach. A vegetable is practically anything that grows on a plant wear the vegetable doesn't come from the flower, isn't the root and doesn't contain the seed.

i think you are a vegetable!

fish are meat. if you are vegetarian you cannot eat them. if you want to be a pescivore then go ahead, but it isnt veggie.
