Why does hummus give me heart burn is it the raw garlic?!

Question:

Why does hummus give me heart burn is it the raw garlic?

i made homemade hummus today with only garlic clove and now im burping fire and acid.

Answers:
it does the same to me. Try roasting the garlic-just rub a few cloves with olive oil and salt, wrap loosly in foil, and roast in a 350 oven for about 20 minutes. The roasting breaks down the enzyme that creates acid-works for me and actually tastes better. You can also roast some red bell peppers for added flavor and texture. Hope this helps. I love my homemade hummus-I use a little extra tahini for a more creamy texture

Some people are susceptible to garlic since it is a strong substance. You might have acid reflux like a lot of people. Try a store brought brand and see if you have the same effects. good luck.

Ouch, sorry to here that, it probably is the raw garlic. Try using roasted garlic next time.

i thought probably because of the other spices or tomatoes.

It may have been something else. Try it again and see what happens. Anything can upset someone's stomach.

Next time you should roast it with meat or fish before using
