Whould a Pesco-Pollo-Lacto-Ovo Vegitarian be a type of vegitarian?!

Question:

Whould a Pesco-Pollo-Lacto-Ovo Vegitarian be a type of vegitarian?

I already know that you could call it a semi-vegitarian. Basicly, could you call yourself that?

Answers:
You can call yourself what ever you want, but that doesn't make you vegetarian, you just don't eat read meat. That's not a bad thing, I would say at least your cutting out some meat.

Why do you feel the need to label yourself as anything?

U just don't eat red meat. U r not the 1st I hear about it. I would call myself a carnivore that do not eat red meat.

I guess you can call yourself whatever you like, and technically it would be true, but you'd probably get some strange looks. I would definately say that's not a type of vegetarianism. To me, vegetarians start with Lacto-ovo, the rest are all meat eaters or pescavores (I don't personally agree with the label of semi-vegetarian). Frankly though, as long as you enjoy the food you eat, do you really need a label?

You could, but you'd be a lying hypocrite.

You could if you wanted to, but you'd just be a hypocrite. There's no such thing as a semi-vegetarian - you either eat meat or you don't, that's all.

Such a person you describe is a meat eater who doesn't eat red meat.

If you want to become a vegetarian, become a vegetarian. You can't trick the body, the animals or the environment into thinking you are a good person. You have to be one. Lead by example. Either be a vegetarian or don't. You can't consider yourself one of us if you are killing chickens, fish, etc. That's death. And death is unacceptable among vegetarians.

you can spank your bum and call yourself fanny if it makes you happy, but no, that would not be a vegetarian. If they are eating meat and chicken, thats still animal flesh. They would be an omnivore, same as if they ate steak or pork. There is no such thing as a semi vegetarian, any more than there is a semi Christian, jew, or muslim. You either ARE, or you ARE NOT. Vegetarianism is more of a lifestyle than a diet.

that wouldnt be a vegetarian. just someone who doesnt eat red meat.

There is no such thing as a semi-vegetarian. Vegetarians do not eat any animal flesh so anyone that eats any type of animal flesh is not any type of vegetarian.

No sorry I don't think you should cal yourself a vegetarian if you eat ANY meat. You can but its almost like a false label because it makes you sound like you're a vegetarian. The only two types of vegetarians like that are Lacto-vegitarian meaning you consume dairy products and Lacto-ovo-vegitarians meaning you consume dairy products & eggs. I personally do not believe in semi-vegetarians. Either you eat meat or you don't. You're an omnivore that's okay.

Lacto-Ovo Vegitarian, yes that is a type of vegitarian.

Whats witht that pesco pollo crap? That means you eat fish and chicken. VEGITARIANS DON'T EAT ANIMALS for gawds sake.

The only way you can be a vegetarian is by eating nothing but vegetable matter. The moment you consume anything that is not vegetable matter (i.e. meat, meat bi-products like dairy, fish, chicken) you are not a vegetarian! It's funny how people try so hard to earn that title. But if it's not all veg, it's not vegetarian!
