Help!!! I want to be a vegetarian how should I tell my mom?!

Question:

Help!!! I want to be a vegetarian how should I tell my mom?

Hi. I want to be a vegetarian but I don't know how to tell my mom! Please help!

Answers:
I personally would just tell her that you want to, why you feel that that would be a better way for you to live and how you plan to keep your body healthy with out the protein from meat that you have normally been receiving. Most parents, once they understand that there has been a logical thought process that goes with your decision, they are happy to help in any way possible. Good luck!

use your mouth.
also you can write it on a piece of paper and give it to your mom

Ask for more beans, nuts and seeds instead of meat. If you eat these as well as more fruit, vegetables and grains there will be no rooom left for meat. Leave the animals on your plate or the serving dish.
Tell your mom you don't feel like eating meat anymore. Tell her the truth. Tell her you want to look after your body and be healthy.

First I would write out the health reasons, backed up with facts, as to why I wanted to become a vegetarian. Then I'd sit down with my parents and tell them I'd like to eat vegetarian and hand them the paper. After they read it (facts important) then I'd discuss it with them quietly and clearly asking them if they have any health issues with it. If there are health issues consider talking with your local physician for his/her blessing.

Always remember your parents are 'in charge' until you are 'of age', in the United States that is 18 yrs.

As long as they are paying the bills, providing you with a roof over your head, food, clothing and medical I'd listen to them and obey. When you leave home and pay your own way you can chose to live how you want without their blessing.

Good luck.

I suggest enlisting her help. At first, perhaps just tell her you want to try to eat healthier foods such as fruits, vegetables and high protein grains like quinoa, rice, and millet. Leave the word vegetarian out of the equation, as that tends to freak people out. I take it your mom is not too easy to talk to, which is a shame. Do some research on going vegetarian, and show some maturity with your knowledge. If you find some simple veggie recipes to try, maybe you can learn to cook for yourself. My 12 year old daughter is a veggie, and she loves to cook. She makes curried cous cous, mac and cheese, stir fry, eggs, and all sorts of other things. Good luck-I hope it works out for you

Tell her that you want to be a vegetarian.

Why is telling your mom a big deal? My daughter has been a vegetarian for years. When she told me I said "Ok". I don't remember it ever being a problem at meal time. Eventually she became a great cook. Some of her creations would impress even the staunchest of meat eaters. I don't know how old you are, but helping mom out with ideas for meals, side dishes, etc. would be good too. If you're young and it's just Mom doing the cooking, then just make sure there are plenty of veggies and salads. Don't forget those non-meat meat products too. Some of them are delicious. I have some of them fairly frequently and I'm a meat eater.

just tell her you do not want to eat meat anymore. if this is for animal rights and she asks why then say you dont want to support the meat industry because it is inhumane. your mom will probably except it and if she doesnt then just avoid meat anyways. its very easy to be vegetarian. if you have any questions you can always ask me. :) cheers

Just tell her. Do some research first. go to the library and read some books on the vegitarien.diet you have to get complete proteen. (like meat) You can do this by combinding rice and beans You should take a daily vitamin as well to make sure you are getting everything your body needs visit a health food store in your area. Look for one in the yeiiow pages of your phone book.If you are under 16 you shouid do what your Mom wants you to do Thats just my personal opinion.. good Luck kitkatz06
