-fresh herbs
-roasted [so the heat enhances the natural flavor]
-try toasted almonds orany other variety of unsalted nuts
-mix with fruit
Salted Butter
Perhaps you may wish to consider organic Sea Salt. There are no bad additives, it's completely natural, is good for you, and tastes great! What more could you ask for!!
Garlic is one of my favorite flavorings. Fresh parsely and other herbs are great too, just experiment. If you chop and saute some red onions or schallots in some olive oil, you can add them to most vegetables to boost their flavor.
But don't discard salt completely. Try natural sea-salt that has all of it's original minerals still in it. Not only does it have a better taste (more wholesome and earthy) but it provides a lot of the trace minerals that are quite beneficial. With natural sea-salt you get less sodium from a serving and you don't use as much because of the fuller flavor.
you can saute them in oyster sauce...
sautee them with garlic and onion
marinate them in spices (cumin, cardamom, olive oil, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, for ex.)
sautee them with cumin
sautee them with red wine or balsamic vinegar
check out www.goneraw.com or other raw foods websites, they have really good recipes for making veggies taste great, since they eat everything raw.
-Make a stir-fry and add soy sauce.
-Saute your faves in a little EVOO and your favorite spice (I use garlic) and serve over pasta.
-Steam them with veggie broth (instead of water). Season w/ some low-sodium Mrs. Dash or a similar spice.
-Saute them in a little oil, some lime juice and cumin. Make them into a veggie burrito.
Mrs. Dash herb mixes, lemon juice, vinegar, garlic, scallions, pepper.
try mrs dash
I'll add a little bit of olive oil and nutritional yeast.
It's almost like having melted cheese on them.
Mrs. Dash. Although, personally, I think veggies taste wonderful on their own. ;)
Find other seasonings. I think the best way is to rid salt as much as you can from your diet. It is an acquired taste and once you get used to not having it then you won't miss it. I am starting a very low sodium diet tomorrow. They say the salt is an appetite stimulant.
anyway, just try not to boil them too much
use herbs like thyme, lemon, onion, rosemary, cloves, nutmeg, almond etc.
