Why egg is cosidered as a veg item????!

Question:

Why egg is cosidered as a veg item????

Answers:
First of all, it's not considered vegetarian, but ovo-vegetarian.

A reason why some vegetarians eat them is because it doesn't move on its own. It does not have all of the basic five elements of life (panch mahabhoot tatva).

Hope this helps. :)

You don't kill the hen for the meat!

the first thing is that egg is not veg item some people has flowed that this is veg.just think when hen eats insects mainly the baby also affected by that.

IT depends on how you define vegetarian.
Lacto-vegetarians believe that milk, honey, varakh, egg and often fish is veg
Vegetarians believe that milk, honey, varakh is veg.
Vegans believe that only products that are not sourced from animals are veg.

I am a vegan. Personally, I think anyone who thinks egg is veg either
a) doesn't know the meaning of veg
b) doesn't care about animals, just saying he/she is veg for other reasons

By eating an egg, you ARE KILLING the life inside it. Not only that, you are causing untold misery to the hens that were treated as egg-producing factories in cramped cages.

Egg is not a veg item as it is derived from an animal and not eaten by vegans.

I don't know maybe because it hasn't developed into meat yet and there's no red blood. Why is fish considered not to be meat at least by some religious groups?
"Vegetarians" has been a common term for those that don't eat meat but usually consume dairy and eggs however the correct term is lacto-ovo-vegetarians. Maybe that's too much of a mouthful. Pecto-vegetarians who eat fish is yet another group.
The true vegetarians are vegans but I don't know what a vegan who eats honey is called.

Is considered veg only by the eggeterians.

egg should not be called veg...

You can buy vegetarian eggs - that is, eggs that are from free-range chickens who are fed a vegetarian diet, not the ground bone meal, etc. that commercial chickens are fed.

People who eat eggs and are vegetarian, usually eat dairy as well and are known as "lacto-ovo vegetarians". An unfertilized egg is not ever going to develop into a chick, so you are not killing anything to eat the egg.

However, a vegan does not eat anything from an animal, mostly for political reasons. Factory farms have made wholesome foods like milk and eggs into hormone filled, contaminated, cruel nightmares.

If you can, find a family farm that you can visit to see that they raise their animals in a humane way, or visit farmers markets for wholesome and healthy foods that allow these additions to your diet.

If a person is a vegetarian who uses some animal products, (such as milk and cheese), then the egg is considered vegetarian.

In the case of a vegan, animal products such as eggs, cheese and milk are not consumed. These products, although they cause no harm to the animal, are still representative of exploitation and/or mistreatment of animals.

And BTW, yes, eggs are included in this distinction. An egg does not contain life within it, until it is fertilized. Any egg obtained from a commercial egg-producing farm has never been anywhere near a rooster, and therefore is unfertilized. It does not contain a "tiny, precious unborn life", any more than a piece of cheddar cheese.

I sort agree with that hole idea that eggs are kinda meat.

In matter of fact an egg is a chickens period!
yeah im sorry i just put you off ever eating another egg.
but its true so many people dont even know this.
that is why you sometimes find blood in the egg..
EWWW i am really sorry i am so scaring you and myself.

it is not meat it is just an egg that comes out of a hen

i read this some were but dont remember the site's name
but the answer for ur Qn is
there are two types of eggs. One which are produced from chicken naturally and are used for breeding are non-veg eggs. Others which are produced for large-scale consumption and are not used for breeding are veg eggs.

Well, I don’t think so Egg is a veg item. Who told you? The contains inside egg is absolutely non-vegetarian.

The only 2 kinds of 100% vegetable egg items available are:

1) imitation egg, used by vegans around the world to replace the egg needed to make some conventional and popular food compilations.
2) eggplant, a large cylindrical vegetable, with an inedible, rubbery, purple skin, and soft, egg-like coloured, semi-fibrous inner.

Egg is a poultry item.

Lots of non strict vegetarians eat them.

egg is considered as a veg item because if it is a broiler egg if these are hatched we do not get chicks because of this reason egg is considered as a veg item

just like humans don't consider babies in the womb as human ,alive ,or a person!! sad isn't it...??

well egg is considered as agitarian food as far as i hv known.few yrs back sum food items which were d part of issue of vegie or non vegie r kept in dis category.
